Having problems finishing in the final 3rd!! Alex Sandro on for F. Luis!! I see either D. Neres or Willian coming on next
Sofrimento. Teve que ser nos pênaltis. But Brazil is in the semifinals. E a Arena do Grêmio finalmente comemora um bom desempenho do Alisson Becker, ex-Internacional. And Gabriel Jesus had an unimpressive showing... but did his part at the end.
As for volume de jogo, Brazil overall wasn't that bad. But Gabriel Jesus missed so many passes I was hoping he would have been subbed at halftime. Notably, our midfield held and was far superior without both Casemiro and Fernandinho. Assuming the latter is fit for the semifinal, he'll be available as a sub - please, Tite, Casemiro and not Fernandinho as a titular.
Firmino... what is he doing in this team? I knew he'd miss his PK. Anyway, thanks Alisson for the one defense of a PK. Thanks Gabriel Jesus for finally doing something (converting a PK, I was afraid he'd miss). Kind of shaky and it's concerning when we play almost 40 minutes with a one-man advantage and still can't score. 25 shots but most of them very weak, with indecisive players not trying when they should. Willian did hit the post once... otherwise, one realizes that we indeed miss Neymar. So, the Neymar-dependência seemed to be a thing of the past after that game against Peru.. but now, it seems to be there again, when the genius strike is not present. In any case, at least we got over the habit of losing to Paraguay in quarter-final PKs. On to Argentina or Venezuela. Believe it or not, I kind of fear Venezuela more than Argentina, given that the latter have been as inefficient in offense as we've been (at least in the games against Venezuela and Paraguay), while Venezuela, the team with no tradition, is showing a lot of eagerness.
I'm not counting on Tite to make the best decisions... I once had a lot of faith in him, but no longer.
In Tite's defense, Mano Menezes in 2011 and Dunga in both 2015 and 2016 failed to lead Brazil to the semifinal round. This is the farthest Brazil has gotten since 2007.
Didn't expect great things, but expected better today. Shit game because Paraguay are ... well ... shit. Rather see Argentina in the SF as I'd think they won't bunker.
Copa America theoretically doesn't even matter. But if you lose, specially to Paraguay, the damage is big. If you win, specially when most teams are not that great, it's like meh ...
Well, on TV often players look more open than they are. Judging by how many of the shots taken where blocked or deflected, I don't think it was a problem of being shy on the trigger.
Brazil is completely devoid of ideas. It is reminding me of the early 2007 Dunga days. Can’t break down defensive teams. Tite has been very disappointing.
