Barring a disaster, there is much good the team can reap from Neymar being out... learning how to function without him not only for one or two matches but for an entire tournament.

If Brazil is going to have kinks to work out, let it happen early on. Bolivia was parking the bus and a bit more attention got us two goals within 8 minutes in the second half. Even with Fernandinho on the pitch.

Pretty bad for the look of the game. Dead atmosphere and empty seats.

The selecao is at an all time low, no question about it. Both in terms of prestige and technically.

Live gate for the Bolivia game was more than 15 games combined of some of the Top Serie A teams . CBF is either charging gold bars for the tickets or there's a money laundry operation taking place.

Tickets were R$190 to R$590. A bit expected for an opener to be pricier.

That averages to R$480 based on attendance and gate. That average seems a bit high to be honest. That would mean ticket average was closer to the high end. Not sure how gate and attendance is calculated either. I think many scalpers were left with tickets on hand.

R$590 is USD151, which is pricy even for middle-class earners in the United States. A lot of regular folks in Brazil cannot dream of forking out that kind of money for a soccer game.

Was not very impressed, but hey I’ll take it.
Surprised Fernandinho got the start over Alan.
Definitely missing Neymar, um jogador que faz a diferença e resolve, which we don’t have.
Sad to see the seleção boos after first half. Bolivia has nothing.

Messed up part is that they said tickets were sold out. Now they are saying they don't know what happened ...

I bet these CONMEBOL aholes are still selling through scalpers.

In terms of prestige I agree, but technically we are still a very good team on paper. Remember Leão’s stint? That was much worse.

Lukewarm game, Morumbi was dead. I liked the white shirts, though.

Leao chose to use only Brazil-based players and even though I didn't care for him in his defense for the Confed Cup'01 he wasn't allowed to take his best players!!

It's all about fuking money now.
I remember I used to go to World Cup matches with my wife for $100. The opening match 1994 in Chicago I paid $50.
    Today IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.
The prices are increasingly unattainable by any standards, not to mention the trip expenses. Now you have to buy WC tickets through FIFA agencies that include hotel, that go for minimum $10,000.00 per person for group stage matches.
CONMEBOL is following that path. What a shame.

Indeed. Prices are adjusted to demand. A match like Brazil vs. Uruguay in the final is likely to sell out and to have much more customer demand than CSA vs. Avaí or Fortaleza vs. Ponte Preta, but Venezuela vs. Bolivia is likely to draw an unenviable attendance.
