look at the opponents mexico faced in each of their R16 matchup and each result. its a combination of matching up against teams that are flat out better than mexico, penalty shoot outs, and bad luck.

France didn't advance from the group stages in the 2010 WC. Were they worse than all 16 teams that did? No. Spain didn't advance form the group stages of the 2014 WC. Were they worse than all 16 teams that did? No. Netherlands didn't even qualify to the Euro Cup. Are they worse than all teams that did? Teams like Northern Ireland and Hungary? The 7-0 is that kind of humiliation that will stay with them forever, just like the Brazil 7-1. So the sooner the Mexicans realize that the better. Maybe it'll help control their hype once they start cruising through their "molero" games again. All in all, I feel the results are in line with what everyone expected if not names or the manner in which they were obtained. Before the groups were drawn I felt a concacaf team was capable of reaching the semis (mexico), one the quarters (CR), and 2 put up a fight in their groups (Panama & US). Let's hope next time, if there's a next time we can "compete" even more. Last, let's hope chile makes the final. A CHI-ARG final, due their respective form and rematch opportunity, seems at least on paper like a ********ing cracking match.
I dunno.. maybe Uruguay is better than us.. but not by much.. cuz we beat Uruguay two times in a row, during WCQ.. 1 - 0 with Suarez playing, and 2 - 1 with out Suarez playing.. we also tied them in Montevideo, 1 - 1 .. so it's not like their Overly Superior to us..
5 more to go....so we'll have a repeat of last year's final. And both teams seem to be in the form of their lives....I can't wait for Sunday

No one is talking about your team because sucking at this sport is normal for them. If you spoke Spanish you would know what everyone thinks of your teams performance not just Mexicans. They give their 2 cents and move on. So while some may be laughing at Mexico now, everyone has been laughing at the usmnt forever and that includes most of the USA.. Sad

i kinda liken england's lost to mexico's. Both the fanbases dont realized how overrated their teams are and that they overrate, and then they get humbled.
