Even if they get dropped, if he can score a few goals and build some value he could get bought by a top division team
At 1.88 metres or 6'2", he's never going to be fast physically. His game is going to have to be based on speed of thought and quick reactions to steal half a yard before the defender reacts. If he has that - based on how he did against Frankfurt with neither support or service* I think he does - his height and strength will make him a serious nuisance to any defence. *I've watched his 60' again - twice
I still think Boyd's single greatest attribute is his undeniable production. He's a large, powerful figure with deceivingly good feet. He's adept at hold up play and bringing others into the attack and most importantly, he consistently scores a variety of types of goals in the penalty area.
I was super impressed by his hold up play and movement. A few more games like that and he will be playing in the Bundesliga next season, with or without Darmstadt.
Imagine seeing that celebration after a World Cup goal. Boyd would be getting commercial deals left and right.
Yeah, we all gotta start calling him "Cyclops" on these boards and make sure it sticks with the rest of the USA crowd.
Well, it certainly is original. He should trademark it, and register the domain name, and the twitter handle, am I forgetting anything you millennials?
Get accounts on all the socials, align himself with eyeware and eye health companies for viral marketing campaigns (Visine would be amazing). Parlay his nascent fame into a LOTR cameo somehow related to Sauron. The list goes on and on
Dear @BarackObama, since we are apparently already the only European soccer club you follow on Twitter: See you at our stadium? 😉 #sv98 pic.twitter.com/iThQpILKTF— SV Darmstadt 98 (@sv98) February 15, 2017
Don't these Germans know if you're going to give the President a jersey you're suppose to put what number President they are on the back of the jersey.... so in Obama's case it would be "44" (sometimes teams put "1" on there as well)... gosh.
This is very random, haha. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ed/?tid=sm_tw&utm_term=.f3e7d0d402f6#comments
And if you've been following the "but can we be second?" videos, this is a good comeback: 831900450345668610 is not a valid tweet id
Interview: http://sbisoccer.com/2017/02/terrence-boyd-focused-on-helping-darmstadt-avoid-relegation Boyd knew, however, that he needed to get back to playing on a more competitive level, so at the start of the winter he assessed his options. One that was on the table was moving from RB Leipzig to its sister club, the New York Red Bulls, who play a near-identical, high-press style of soccer. There was a feeling-out process with the MLS club, which included Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch making a trip to Portugal in January to talk to Boyd instead of being at the annual combine. The forward ultimately turned down the chance to move to the United States, though. It just wasn’t the right time for him in his career or for his growing family at this point in their lives.
