And so the Rapids continue their road trip and head down south to Houston to visit the Dynamo. Last time these two met it was March 30th at DSGP where the Dynamo won 4-1. Hudson was still the coach back then, Rosenberry and Sjoberg both had own goals in that game, and Tommy Smith was ejected in the 90th minute. Definitely not our night. The Dynamo are on an absolutely miserable run as of late however, 4W-12L-2T since the start of May. In those 18 games, they've only scored 18 goals, and yet they've allowed 35. That's a -13 goal differential. In their last 8 games, they've gone 1-7-0, scoring 7 goals and allowing 21. In the exact same span since the start of May, it's worth noting that the Rapids have been under Casey, going 7-6-3, with 29 goals for and 26 goals against. As many of you know, Houston fired their coach this week and as such this game will be the first for their interim head coach. Hopefully it goes as well for them as it did for Casey's first game in charge. After the midweek game in Minnesota, several of our regulars looked a little gassed. I am curious how much squad rotation we will see in this one, as we didn't see too much against Minnesota. Interestingly enough, Rosenberry has also played every minute of every game for the Rapids this season. Price will be available for selection again, which will be nice. The weather at kickoff is currently forecasted at 88 degrees with 66% humidity - so it'll be a warm and sticky night as well. 2019 MLS Regular Season - Week 24 Houston Dynamo vs. Colorado Rapids MLS Stadium in Houston August 17 - 7PM MT Altitude TV (I assume). Good luck Rapids, I guess.
Neither team is very good. It'll be a typical Houston summer miserable hot humid evening. I predict a pretty unwatchable match. I'll probably watch it anyway.
If you ever get to Vilnius, make sure to visit his statue. Price is back this match, so I have hope. Probably false hope, but it's all I have. Anagram: Casino Riots
Dynamo started really well, particularly at home IIRC. That would mean they were better at home early when the weather would have been more bearable for the visitors, which is not what one would expect. Though I expect the humidity to affect the Rapids. Did the Dynamo lose any of their attackers? Looks like Manotas and Elis are still there. The game at home vs them was so ridiculous it had to have been a major nail in Hudson's coffin. I'm not sure I've seen a pro game where the D allowed so much space to one of the other team's main attackers.
Let's get this party started.⚽️ #HOUvCOL🏟 BBVA Stadium⏰ 7:00PM📺 @AltitudeTV📻 @AltitudeSR💻 AltitudeNOW#Rapids96 | #Elevate— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) August 17, 2019
Party is an interesting word choice. Two poor teams, hot Houston. 1-1 tie, and that's optimistic. Plus, the Tottenham game was great, so the excitement bar is set too high anyway. Still, if I was in Houston I'd go; I just like live footie. And their stadium looks cool. Oh, and I'm not sure what the Frank Zappa contributed, but I'm glad it contributed.
Alright. I’m thinking it’s gonna be a big scoreline here. Both teams are gonna be tired, and the defenses are gonna be open. 4-2 for the rapids. Houston’s new coach bump isn’t going to happen tonight.

In Frank's lyrics, how I thought the match would go: "I done spent three hours An' I ain't got a crumb From the Dinah-Moe, Dinah-Moe, Dinah-Moe From the Dinah-Moe Humm" And how it is going (so far): An' you know I heard some Dinah-Moe Humm Some Dinah-Moe Humm
And they give one back. The defensive is starting to revert to form. Ball-watching, failing to mark, and silly fouls are deadly in a game like this.
