It does when the defending team is repeatedly exposed and gives up several great scoring opportunities that should have put the opposing side through.
I keep reading "should have" from you and Gilma. If we're going to play the "should have" game we easily should have finished in second place in the league and destroyed Celta Vigo with all the great chances we had on goal. The reality is that we did not finish on all the great chances we had on goal and, therefore, we did not deserve to finish in the top four. "Should have" means absolutely shit. It's what you DO, not what you have SHOULD HAVE DONE that separates teams. Celta in no way did enough to deserve beating us. It "shouldn't have" been even close, but close it was. But in the end -- without the aid of bad referee calls -- we beat the inferior side. Their finishing on the day was as bad as ours was all season long. Let me ask you this: Did United deserve to end the season in the top four? I say no. We "should have" ended up in the top four but our finishing was horrifying and, as as a result, we didn't deserve it. If you can't finish your chances, you've got a problem. Celta couldn't finish their chances, chances that were only created because we sat back to defend a lead, a lead that carried us through to victory in the tie and led to our eventual cup win, a cup win that landed us back in the Champions League. Celta were poor and didn't deserve anything from our tie with us. You can argue that we were poor too and I wouldn't disagree with that, but we were less poor than Celta, who pushed back when we wanted to and allowed to come forward when we wanted to. We controlled the tempo of the tie, not Celta.
Our look back at 2016/17 begins with Jose's best moments... pic.twitter.com/I0vPVdCysi— Manchester United (@ManUtd) June 5, 2017
A look at JM tactics for Ajax Final José Mourinho and Mike Tyson are the heavyweights of counterpunching https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2017/jun/16/jose-mourinho-mike-tyson-counterpunching
www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/06/20/jose-mourinho-accused-tax-fraud-spanish-prosecutors/ Was worried this might come down since he had been named with Ronaldo in the documents that had been released back in December...
One would imagine that Gestifute will be under investigation or at the very least looked into at some point in the near future. That almost looks like a given...
The Mendez clients are under investigation for one thing or the other and raiola clients are all moving somewhere or atleast forcing a move. So both are busy I guess.
But at least Jose isn't a stat-padding fraud! A good read on what's happening...I had no idea there was something known as "The Beckham Law". https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...y-is-this-a-thing-now/?utm_term=.bd8ff69ecf2b
He's already been sentenced actually to a fine and a year in jail (suspended however, like Messi). He cut a deal before it even went to trial, which is smart. Won't be surprised if Roaldo and Jose go the same route.
50 - Jose Mourinho reached 50 @premierleague wins faster than any other manager, doing so in just 63 games. Special. pic.twitter.com/TtnSJZwnq6— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) June 23, 2017
So I guess it's confirmed then... Been seeing reports since yesterday but couldn't get it confirmed. Thoughts and prayers for Jose and his family. May he RIP.
Sorry for your loss. But I swear, if you buy Matic im buying and flying the plane and banner over OT my damn self.
I hope you have your pilot's license. If not, you are going to have to search NYC for @Invincible. Lol
That did seem an extreme over-reaction. It was a post of no significance when I came across it yesterday but upon reading the extent of benni's loathing of Matic earlier today one has to wonder where his problem with Matic really comes from. Matic has been fantastic (though nowhere close to being a galactico) for Chelsea, who have won two trophies over the last three seasons, in the process becoming a reliable force in midfield. This may all be a massive headfake to shake Fabinho loose, or it may be the real deal. If it's the former, fantastic as you can count me on the Fabinho bandwagon. If it is the real deal Mourinho has already proven he can get solid mileage from Matic. A post from a Chelsea forum: Exactly the reason to not sell him. Selling him to united to make a midfield 3 of Herrera-matic-pogba would be like giving united a massive push for the title. I have always felt that matic would be great as a DM in a 3-man mid, where he can just sit in front of a 4 and let the likes of cesc/pogba concentrate on attacking. Selling him to united would be a massive mistake. I would keep him, because I feel Conte WILL move to a midfield 3 (3-5-2), which would suit matic and cesc far more as well as our new rumored buys - bakayoko and tolisso. Just one post, but there is a general sense within the Chelsea world that selling him to United would be bad business for the club. The thing about Mourinho we shouldn't forget is that he's really not a collector of shiny toys. He puts together a squad of very decent players, no doubt with one or two all-worlders, and makes the squad the proverbial "whole is greater than the sum of its parts" kinda squad. But no one, except benni, argues that Matic is a garbage footballer, basically the reincarnation of Djemba-Djemba. I'm curious why.
