Gio has no defensive mindset and he should not be Cm.

He's a quality player for the national team and he's proved it....

Just don't put him out of his playing position.

Exact same thing with our Cb's being RB/LB... nonsense !

 

I am expecting a Portuguese B team to be fielded, maybe a few starters such as Pepe and maybe Bernardo Silva or Andre Silva start as well, but B team backups for the most part. The quality in terms of depth is I believe as strong as its ever been for Portugal so it will still be an excellent squad. I think Mexico will probably still field their strongest lineup after how they lost the Germany game, I expect they want to go out with a win.

Should be an attacking game, I believe this tournament is the last you will see of this Portuguese team playing a more defensive counter attacking brand of football, way too much talent on this team now to play the style they played at the Euro's and this tournament. It works in some games but it doesn't always work, like against Chile where they would dominate possession and look like they were on the path to a victory but then all of a sudden take the foot off the pedal and soak up pressure and invite Chile to come after them.

With us putting out our b team with really no chemistry I could see this game going either way. really can't give a prediction as its kind of a wild card game.
