Lol banned from the world cup. First they have to ban Azteca for a match, then they have to make them play in an empty stadium, then they have to make Mexico lose some points and maybe the they would ban the team.

Lol with the money we generate? Let's be serious here....theyre never gonna do shit about it.

Also doesn't that sort off fall under some type of free speech deal? Not justifying it but how is it that suddenly that's a problem yet players get middle fingers and slandered like crazy by people in the stands when they pass by.....are we gonna start chasing everything until were watching games live like we're at a library or a movie theatre? Lame.

Freedom of speech =/= freedom of consequence.

FIFA is a private company and its members are abided to follow rules set forth by FIFA. FIFA has the right to enforce its rules and policies to its members.

It's a whole lot more of a benefit for FIFA to have Rusia or Portugal to go thru than Mexico. This stupid Mexican idea that FIFA will cancel the world cup if Mexico isn't there or something is starting to get dangerous.

so you think the fans should continue the chant?

How is it ridiculous? What other recourse do they have? The fines and pleas haven't done shit.

You can't really expect FIFA to just let it continue.

At what point can you still call yourself a fan when your fck all attitude actually costs the team points?

It isn't fair but wtf said anything is fair?

Personally, I don't care about the chant

What annoys me about this is the criteria FIFA is using

    You overestimate mexicos pull.

It's one thing for a fan or a small group of fans to say something, they can easily be pointed out and dealt with. When you have thousands celebrating it unison, it gets complicated. I hope you're right.

They're hypocrisy is clear but it sounds like excuse making coming from Mexico. It's not a good argument. I think we should just take it, stop the chant, and point out the hypocrisy.

How about this? They all flip the bird and yell hiiiiiiiiiipocritassss!

How bout a different thread for pvto chants? Call the telenovela thread "pvtos vs pvtas."

It's a side topic for new zealand vs mexico.

Anyways, not strictly for the upcoming game-- (1) but I think Mexico really needs a solid pivote / destroyer (and move herrera up to interior role, along jona--yes sacrifice guardado who is not as good as #6 and #16.

In theory Guardado, can be the destroyer (like in PSV) but Osorio highly prefers someone tall in that role to help up with the cabezazos (exact same reason Salcedo was right back).

    (2) better laterales. Layun lacks playing time this year and his left centros is no bueno for the most part. Reyes, a leftie, can play that role.

That leaves us for right back layun or salcedo again.

    (3) The undisputed three strikers should be
Vela, Jimenez, tecate (since tecate not in this tournament, slot it lozano or aquino).

Hernandez scored 1 out of 4 clear chances vs portugal. 1. Header missed, 2. Pase de la muerte missed that he kicked to row 23, and 3. a pass from gio inside the big box near end of the game. 25% conversion--not killer enough.

Last thing that I didnt like in the previous game, after tying 2-2 hernandez and other players were content and apparently wanted to waste a bit of time with the celebration (kind of like Italy vs Germany when Grosso scored the extra time goal--but they were winning) INSTEAD of saying, we have 90 seconds, let's win this shit. You rewatch that.

Only if @Xizor replaces JCO at the last second. Other than that, there should be no reason for Talavera or Cota to even get off the bench to warmup.

Sounds like we're putting all the afterthoughts in the starting 11 tomorrow. Rafa + Horrible Peralta to lead the way

He better keep Ochoa. Rotating gk is just plain stupid

"We're thinking of giving opportunities to others to once again put out a very fresh and very competitive team," Osorio said upon arrival in Sochi on Monday. "There are some very good options to refresh the team, but we will take into account the medical examinations to make the decisions."

So apparently if they hear "********"' by even one fan, Mexico will lose the game. Sounds like a nice excuse to put Russia through.

What? the core principle of freedom of speech is freedom of consequences.

Aside from that....its just flat out stupid. This principle of punishing an entity for the WORDS of a group of people thats different every event would not fly in any other capacity.

Like everyone saying "oh but if we don't stop they're gonna take away this or tbat."....im sure they might get brave enough to try it, but don't think for a second that it's gonna stick and arent gonna face an insane blow back. End of the day, the players and the NT have nothing to do with it, and have aligned themselves to the message....fifa cannot punish them without facing consequences themselves at one point.

I don't see how this shits any different than when me and my brother used to go to games with my old man as kids and there would be all these mongos around us yelling obscenities and curse words into our ear we had never heard. Where the fvck is fifa in those scenarios policing words?
