I don’t have her contact info but I would guess Arica Kress. She “liked” one of the tweets that went out about this, so is aware of the situation (I realize how weird that sounds). And by all accounts is a very decent person.

Ah. Yes. I recall she put together the 2008 champions reunion in the midst of apathy and resistance. She might be the person to contact.

I know that @chr1st won’t see this anytime soon. I have no words for the loss he and his family have suffered.

He always cared about my wife’s health as I’ve shared her journey. Such a kind person through the whole thing and I only hope I can return that kindness and much more.

I have been praying for you and your whole family.

Damn it! I feel like an ass after getting a chance to read this thread. I was giving @chr1st a hard time for not getting the Fire thread started. I obviously had no idea and just did my little bit with a donation to the fundraiser. My condolences to the families and the children in the hospital have been in my thoughts since the incident happened. Like others have said, whatever you guys need, we're her for you.

I don't have the words to ease this kind of pain. What I do have is the knowledge that outside of the massive family Chris has built upon in his personal life, he has another one that is Massive with a capital M that will band together and provide any and all necessary help. You and your family are in our thoughts and we are in your corner. @chr1st Win by 2 or more goals forever and always!

While I don't know personally Chris (only by his posts on this board) I too wanted to offer my prayers and condolences for him and his family. The one thing that I worry about daily is losing one of my kids. Children are pure & precious gifts. My kids are my greatest accomplishment. Thinking about Chris and what he is going through breaks my heart. Reading this thread gives me hope that if each of us can take just a small fraction of burden off Chris' heart, collectively we will make a difference.

This just seems fitting to me..... Penelope & Eleanor #ForeverMassive

Heartbreaking. I wish the family the best and will pray they find peace. Wish I could be more eloquent.

It's understandable if Chris isn't posting currently. There should be updates in the paper as the case against the driver progresses.

I've seen something about the person responsible, but that's about it.

While I assume that there will be updates about the victims, it's not always what happens. There was an instance a few years ago, where a young girl was struck by a car on High Street near where I live in Clintonville. Lots of coverage of the accident, then nothing. And I really wanted to know if she was okay. Months later, 30 minutes of googling uncovered a facebook post from her middle school about her welcome back party after she was discharged from the hospital. It was a relief to know she was okay, but a frustration that she getting better wasn't considered newsworthy when, of course, the accident that nearly took her life was.

One update I pulled from multiple older reports is that there were still at least two children in the hospital, one of which was still critical as of the 28th. No update since.

You really might be one of the best among us.

I hope the updates we receive are positive. This tragedy has far too much sadness.

@chr1st - I literally can't put into words what I'm feeling. Know you have a forum full of support here for you in anyway you need it...just ask but I'll understand if you don't.

Everyone better hug a loved one tonight (and every night)...time is not guaranteed.

    Via the GoFundMe:

"Good news! Your prayers and good wishes are working. Another child was discharged from the hospital over the holiday weekend! She is now home resting comfortably with her surviving siblings and family. Unfortunately, one child remains hospitalized. While his condition continues to improve, his full rehabilitation may take some time. Regardless, both families take great comfort and have found the strength to endure this difficult time in your continued prayers, kinds words, and incredible generosity. Words cannot adequately describe the gratitude they feel. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and know you are making a difference."

By the way, I wanted to say that I know not all of us can give money. I get that more than you might know. I went into last weekend with the mindset that we were not spending anything extra. I had meals ready, staying on the property, etc. Then we got the news. Well I looked at Tim and said, “hey hun, I know we were looking to not spend money, but I need to give to this family.....”

Seeing many of your names in the list of donors...

Fine. For this thread, I will KHT.

I emailed the Dayton Daily News. And then I emailed Arica Kress.
