The 35 player provisional roster due Oct 2 20 player World Cup qualifying roster due Oct 22 Roster changes (6 max) for 6 teams qualifying for 2nd stage due 24 hours after team’s final 1st stage game. All added players must come from 35 player provisional roster
This is the kind of small-minded thinking that's holding US soccer back. Who said we need the official roster to start complaining?
If you are a coach of one of the team's in the USA's group do you: 1. Rest your players against the USA and try and get results against the other teams 2. Knowing only the first place team advances, play your best players as rested as possible against the USA and hope to scrape by against the other teams.
To advance out of the group, the US team has to be upset. The team that beats or draws the U.S. U-20 team is going to be at a huge advantage. My guess is that every team is going to throw everything they have at the United States and hope to catch the U.S. U-20 team at a time when they are rotating their squad and something isn't clicking.
That would be my worry. In the format, it is really important for the US to get a result at whichever team is the second best team. I would guess that is T&T, but who knows at the U20 level.
Anything can happen in soccer, but on paper those teams look so over-matched that it is hard to see how any of them could get a result against even a B-Team. You would have to think Seattle Sounds U19 Team would be favorites against every squad except maybe T&T. Maybe even a middle of the road non-MLS DA like North Carolina Fusion.
Just to re-up this, based on the tournament regulations the rosters are due today. https://res.cloudinary.com/concacaf...sets/Concacaf_Under-20_Championship_-_ENG.pdf (The deadline is "10 days before the first match," which is Nov. 1. I'm sure there are good reasons the regulations don't just say "By TBD a.m. Eastern Time on TBD Specific Date," but ... they don't just say that.) I assume we could start to see announcements at just about any time. If you see any rosters, post them here!
In the 2015 Concacaf U-20 Championship, two players tied as top scorers with 5 goals each. One was Romain Gall. Do you remember the other player? #LoveForOurGame— Concacaf (@Concacaf) October 19, 2018
Chucky? Just looked it up, and that is right. Three of Gall's five were pens. The other two were against Aruba. Did Gall end up making the final roster? I don't recall him doing anything in the World Cup.

USYNT opponent T&T published an "update" yesterday, but no roster I can easily find. Their coach is Russell Latapy, who some of you may recall. http://ttfootball.org/2018/10/23/under-20-men-prepare-for-concacaf-qualifiers/
Man, not a lot of outrage over losing a YNT player to one of the USMNT's closest rivals, is there? Always thought it odd he was in the US pool despite being born and raised in British Columbia and the greater competition he'd face for playing time in the US. Good on him if he leveraged his US call-ups for more serious looks from Canada.
