Both are not favorites to make it pass the group, but Mexico has a better chance.

Swap Mexico with the USA in the groups and what do you get? The USA with a better chance. (Both would love Honduras group).

Mexico has never beaten an African team in the World cup (0W-2D-1L)

Mexico would be heavy underdog vs. Germany just like the USA.

Portugal, as other have said, both the USA and Mexico have beaten Portugal in the World Cup.

But Portugal goes as CR9 goes, if he is on, then Portugal wins, if he is off, both countries have a chance to win vs. Portugal.

Mexico always seems to make it to the second round and lose regardless of the opponents (unless the WC is at home), so for that I guess people could argue Mexico could make it out of group G. But I am not sure the bet makers would give Mexico a much bigger chance than the USA.

The USA probably matches as well as Mexico vs Croatia, Cameroon is more iffy but they may not be as good as Ghana, Mexico does match up better vs Brazil usually, but this is the World Cup in Brazil.

On a different note: I can't help but think the Scots are going to pull like crazy for Costa Rica against England. You know, in order to dull that embarrassment from 1990...and because it's a team playing against England. :D

There is no way any Blue fans celebrated MX Cup anywhere near the way they celebrated Concachampions. The 2 titles are as different as night and day.

They're 100% justified in going nuts over the fact that they are now undisputed Kings of CONCACAF with 6 titles, more than any of the 100s of CONCACAF clubs in existence.

1st time they did not lose a final in not so sure how many tries.

    They celebrated that shit.

Sure now after winning the CCL, the fans would not celebrate a Copa MX as much if they win it again, but that ended the subcampionisimo thing (well they did lose that final to America a few weeks later).
