...not the best statement for sure, but to be fair, even FIFA would say that WoSo began with a NED-FRA match in 1981, so '86 isn't too far off.
Interesting groups. In Central America Costa Rica as favorite in group A, meanwhile in group B Panama and Guatemala will play for the other spot. The Belize Girls lost yesterday to Guatemala in a friendly 9-0 and won't participate in this pre Olympic. I guess they know they don't have an adequate level yet to compete. The novelty is in the Caribbean area, former vinotinto coach Kenneth Zsemereta will be in charge of the Dominican Republic. Hopefully he had time to put together a good group of girls to play the spot against Trinidad Tobago in Couva. (In 2011 Dominican Republic won vs Trinidad Tobago 1-0 in the pre Olympic tournament of Concacaf. Later Cuba eliminated Trinidad & Tobago. The Caribbean representatives in the Concacaf final round played in Vancouver were Haiti, Cuba and Dominican Republic.)

I really wish, when there are an even number of odd-size groups, that the team on "bye" each week instead gets scheduled to play their opposite from another group. Just seems like the more efficient thing to do. Easier said than done when the groups involved are in different single locations (i.e. not home-and-away group or groups in neighboring cities), but still. PAN and CRC are neighbor countries, UNCAF could've worked something out.
St.Kitts and Nevis with one foot in the final round of Concacaf after beating host Trinidad &Tobago 1-4. Next game vs Antigua and Barbuda . St. Kitts and Nevis has a better goal average than Dominican Republic and a weaker rival . Dominican Rep will face Trinidad &Tobago and needs to score more than 5 goals to have a chance .
Wow, I didn't expect that! I thought Trinidad & Tobago was a little more "established" as a team (as much as you can use this word in the Caribbean area) and I had never heard about St. Kitts and Nevis as a team that was anywhere on women's football map instead. Their coach has probably made an heck of a good job!
Trinidad & Tobago seems to be in freefall since 2015 when they fell just short of qualifying for the World Cup.
Caribbean Group C Puerto Rico 1-2 Haiti (Bayamón PUR) Haiti joins USA, Mexico and Canada in the 2020 Concacaf Women Olympic Qualifying Championship.
Caribbean Group A St.Kitts and and Nevis 10-0 Antigua and Barbuda Trinidad & Tobago 0-0 Dominican Rep St. Kitts and Nevis qualifed to the final Concacaf tournament to be played in Bradenton, Florida.
Group B Jamaica 7 - US Virgin Islands 0 Cuba 6 - St. Lucia 0 Jamaica qualifies to the CONCACAF Finals.
What an achievement for them! Also, I guess they should climb quite high in FIFA ranking for that. What's their position right now?
