Jamaica loses, and will end up in League B. MONTSERRAT will make the Gold Cup in 2019 as long as there is no draw between the Dominican Republic v Bermuda game tomorrow AND Barbados defeats Nicaragua, at home, tomorrow. Oh, and also Canada has to beat French Guiana, with Canada beating the home team.
I messed this up! With Montserrat being 3 points clear of both the DR and Bermuda, a draw there would be perfect for them. Montserrat has got to be bullish on their chances to make the Gold Cup. But as the US learned in October of 2017, anything can happen!
Six games left: British Virgin Islands vs Bonaire A makeup from matchday 3, the teams have combined for a full 1 point. With a giant blowout, BVI might make League B on goal differential but it seems unlikely. Puerto Rico vs Grenada PR is winless so far so even a win keeps them in League C. Grenada with a win moves to 6 points and League B. A draw keeps them both in League C. Dominican Republic vs. Bermuda Bermuda with a win will move into League A - they are at +11 GD, same as Guyana, and would tie them at 9 points with a win. Dominican Republic would need to win by at least 4 to try and move into League A. A win by either team moves them into the Gold Cup. A draw by either will give them a shot at the Gold Cup. Canada vs. French Guyana Originally scheduled to be the last game, a Canada win at home would be a huge result for Montserrat. A win by French Guyana moves them into a Gold Cup spot. They would need to blowout Canada to make it to League A. Haiti vs. Cuba The only game left between two teams in League A. Outside of a massive blowout by either side, they should both comfortably be in League A by the end of tonight. Barbados vs. Nicaragua A win for Nicaragua puts them into the Gold Cup. A blowout gives them a shot at League A. A draw leaves them in Group B without the Gold Cup. Of note, Barbados was charged in Game 1 with using ineligible players, resulting in their first game, a 2-2 draw, becoming a 3-0 win for Guyana, who now currently hold the 6th and final spot in League A. Montserrat fans are cheering that no two of French Guyana, Dominican Republic/Bermuda, and Nicaragua win. The draw will take place on March 27th in Las Vegas at 10pm EDT. The US will be in Pot 1 for the League A draw.
Great thread. Appreciate the commentary and breakdowns. I will actually watch tonight now thanks to you all (nice to have it all included in what I’ve already paid to stream DCU).
The British Virgin Islands needed to win by 5 goals to get to League B, and they lost. Giving Bonaire their first win in almost 5 years. Both teams will be in League C Grenada has a one goal lead on the road against Puerto Rico. A win would send Grenada to League B and send Guadeloupe to League C. They have to hang on though. anything less than a win would mean League C. Game is meaningless for Puerto Rico, they're stuck in League C regardless. A Grenada win will also force Barbados to get a win if they want to move into League B. Barbados will only need a draw tonight if Puerto Rico can comeback. Dominican Republic and Bermuda are about to start. Winner qualifies for their first ever Gold Cup. Bermuda can also get to League A with a win. In the event of a draw, The Dominicans would be knocked out of Gold Cup contention, and Bermuda would move into the last Gold Cup spot. They'd need Canada and Barbados to both get at least one point tonight
The Goal that currently has Grenada on track for League B sure is something Goal @GrenadaFootball! Goodness. Puerto Rico really needs to start enticing our B level players to move there and become national team stars.
Another flukey goal. This time for The Dominican Republic. It gave them a 1-0 lead, but Bermuda has just answered. 1109926609618780160 is not a valid tweet id
Grenada gets the 2-0 win and has qualified for League B, which sends Guadeloupe down. League C is nearly set, with just one spot remaining. A Barbados loss or draw would give Barbados that final spot, a win would give Aruba that final League C spot. Dominican Republic and Bermuda tied at 1 at the break. That game ending in a draw would be massive for Montserrat
Guyana ties it up 1-1, some keystone cops play from Canada's defense. Slow backpass to GK Borjan results in a Guyana player slide-tackling him and slotting it home in the empty net. Yiiiikes...
Bermuda up 3-1. Montserrat needs Barbados to earn at least a point. And for Canada to stay drawn or go ahead of course. Edit: Just as I reply, Canada scores to go up 2-1.
Bermuda has qualified for their first ever CONCACAF Gold Cup as well as League A (which knocks Guyana out of League A). Awesome for a country that's never even managed to qualify for a Caribbean Cup before. Montserrat's hopes rest on Canada not losing and Barbados getting a win or draw
Canada quickly scores 2 to give them a 3-1 lead on French Guiana. It will be Nicaragua or Montserrat for The Final Gold Cup spot barring a massive turnaround there.
Canada up 3-1 now. They figured out that Guyana has awful defenders and an awful GK, so looping balls over the top are effective for yet another goal. I missed Cavellini's, and my stream's bad, but suffice to say Canada's settled in finally.
Montserrat is the biggest Barbados fan on the planet right now. They are calling all of their Bajan friends, telling them to cheer as loud as possible at the game tonight.

League A Pots (Nov. Concacaf ranking in parenthesis): Pot 1: Mexico (1), United States (2), Costa Rica (3), Honduras (4) Pot 2: Panama (5), Canada (7), Haiti (10), Trinidad and Tobago (11) Pot 3: Martinique (12), Cuba (13), Curacao (15), Bermuda (23) Ideal draw would be Trinidad and Tobago and Bermuda based on Concacaf ranking. Edit: I'll edit if Nicaragua wins by enough to bump Cuba. Either way it won't change much.
Never seen a ref’s shirt look as much like a jersey as this one’s does with Barbados. It’s been messing with me a tad. I’d be fine if that led to blunder to benefit Barbados/Montserrat.
