In truth Barbados only needs to draw Nicaragua. That would leave Nicaragua with only 7 points, and behind Montserrat. Nicaragua is not a juggernaut, so I certainly dont see it as not doable. But of course, in 5 hours, Montserrat COULD be out. That's sports!

FWIW, UEFA didn’t use FIFA rankings either, they used UEFA coefficient, which is straight W-D-L record.

Word on Twitter is Montserrat has one more lifeline: an ilegible player complaint against the Cayman Islands, as their defender Frederick-Charlery may have started on two yellow cards (depending on whether he got booked against Jamaica - hasn't yet been clarified). If Montserrat successfully appeals, the 3-0 Cayman forfeit would put them even with El Salvador; and then, if the number of away goals scored is a tiebreaker, that would see Montserrat through to the Gold Cup at SLV's expense.

Disappointing that we do not get to see Montserrat on goal difference as I believe it would have been one heck of a story. Still, the Nations League draw will see the US assured of playing some very interesting potential road matches in a competitive international. Playing at Haiti, Canada or Trinidad and Tobago would all be interesting, as will any away game against the Pot 3 teams. I know we've played @Cuba before but none of the other 3.

The draw occurs at 7 PDT on Wednesday in Las Vegas, I'm guessing the CONCACAF facebook page will broadcast the draw.

One slight correction: according to Wiki and the official standings, Barbados is set to be a top seed in League C (at Puerto Rico's expense).

Whoops. I really messed that up. For some reason I also had Aruba way too low.

    Corrected League Pots:

Pot 2 - Panama, Canada, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago
Pot 3 - Martinique, Cuba, Curaçao, Bermuda

    League B
Pot 1 - Jamaica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, French Guiana
Pot 2 - Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dominican Republic, Suriname, Guyana
Pot 3 - Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia
Pot 4 - Grenada, Aruba , Dominica, Montserrat

    League C
Pot 1 - Guatemala, Guadeloupe, Bonaire, Barbados
Pot 2 - Puerto Rico , Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands
Pot 3 - U.S. Virgin Islands, Saint Martin, Sint Maarten, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla

My prediction from last October wasn't too bad. It didn't quite take 10 points to get into League A but it did take 9 points and a goal difference of +13 or more. It did take 9 points to qualify for the Gold Cup with Montserrat the only team with 9 points to miss out.

It is amazing how few draws there were in this competition. Only 5 out of 68 total games.

The Cayman Islands player Joshewa Frederick-Charley was double-booked and shouldn't have played. Guyana was awarded a 3-0 match against Barbados for a similar incident so Montserrat should also have the same rules applied for them. Here is the match game summary of the game against Jamaica on Matchday 1 showing the first booking. Here is the match game summary against Saint Lucia on Matchday 3 showing the second booking. And here is the match game summary against Montserrat showing that he was on the field. Seems pretty cut and dry to me. On the Wikipedia page the away goals rule is applied when GD, GF, and GA are all the same. So Montserrat should go through.

Is this seriously gonna happen or will Concacaf let it pass? I believe it's up to the Monserrat FA to make a formal request.

You all had me scared for a second but the video and official report have Jermaine Wilson as the only yellow for the Cayman Islands in the game versus Jamaica. So that just isn’t the case and El Salvador are still through. That last second goal against Montserrat proves to be even bigger than I thought. Head to head should really be a tie breaker criteria bad job on concacaf’s part for not making it one of the options

I would hope that a formal complaint has already been sent to Concacaf and that the CFU is assisting the Montserrat FA with this matter. Guyana's tie against Barbados was reversed due to an ineligible player otherwise they wouldn't have made the Gold Cup so I hope the same standard is applied in this case. The match summaries available online show that yellow cards were issued in two separate games to the same player so Concacaf can't say that it didn't happen. Concacaf might try to save face and say that even with a 3-0 reversal El Salvador would go through based on the head-to-head result but that was never listed as a tiebreaker, so the total number of away goals rule would apply. If Concacaf doesn't do the right thing, the FA should definitely appeal to FIFA and CAS.

I didn't watch the match but if that's the case, then where did this match report come from? It is so detailed it even has the minute that each player was booked. In the 92nd minute the player in question was given a yellow. If someone has seen the full footage of the game, the actual booking might not be shown on the video, but it was certainly documented. If there is now some "official" match report being put out that only one player was booked, I'd be pretty skeptical.
