If you haven’t erased it yet...i was bemused at how when the ref saw Davies juggling the ball, he realized what was coming and started slowly walking forward, even before the ball was headed.

Did anyone watch the Panama - Mexico game? Would be interested to know how Ricardo Montero got on, coming back from injury.

I don't know what's more surprising: the ref not giving Davies the yellow, or the Canadian players seeming to have absolutely no idea that you can't flick it up to yourself and head it to the keeper.

The good thing is, I showed this play to my daughter, who is a GK in high school. I asked her what she should do if on of her defenders starts juggling the ball like Davies. She basically yelled “stop stop!”

I was thinking about this, how he gave a lot of leeway to the dissent (which seemed fine given the rarity of the situation) in terms of duration. But should you/do you really need to add time for prolonged dissent? if they are losing and want to spend their time that way, I would be loathe to give it back to them. If they had been winning, I hope he would have put the squelch on it much sooner.

The Hoillett foul on Yeuill could have been red. In a 3-0 game, I think it should have been.

I'm still getting accustomed to the reformatting of qualifying in CONCACAF. Just learned over the weekend that the Group Winners of League B in the Nations League qualify for the 2021 Gold Cup. So the away games tonight for St. Vincent and Suriname are really important. One would think they would deserve Elite referees, but thus far CONCACAF has steered clear of putting Elite referees into League B, with very few exceptions.

Wikipedia says DE LECA of Aruba will be on Dominica-St. Vincent. No reporting on the Nicaragua-Suriname match.

Side note, the US had a 4-person crew do a 2-stop tour over the weekend.

Unkel-Saghafi-Wienckowski-Anderson (I believe Frank, but not positive) was the quartet.

Unkel led the Martinique-Honduras match in League A.

Saghafi had the whistle for Guadeloupe-Turks & Caicos in League C.

Not the worst 6-day assignment to pull in November.

That tackle on Sargent in 2’ sure felt like SFP. But I suppose no call whatsoever is cool, too.

Though I guess maybe the tackler missed with the lead leg and got him with the trail? Lack of replay is frustrating.
