Great finish, one of the wildest I have ever seen. Santos still had no business making this series so close. Regardless, I am glad they won.

But from what I've read the strongest USL clubs don't even participate in that tournament. The USL Clubs being Vancouver, Montreal & Puerto Rico.

    what?

3 FMF teams and 1 Puerto Rican

if Santos were to lose, 2 FMF and 1 Canada 1 PR.

They had to because of their own mistakes especially in the 1st leg. This was one of the best teams of the competition against a USL team. Kudos to them on the comeback but it should never have gotten to this especially because it was mostly based on their overconfidence.

Santos should be ashamed of themselves for even putting themselves in that position.

i get where Rafa is coming from and I agree.

Montreal isnt the greatest team, you cant come in all ignorant and think you can pwn with no preparation. Almost came out looking like a fool.

    lucky you are.

I would have probably had agree with you had this Santos been the same one from last season, it's not. They drew Municipal on the road, lost to both Tauro and PR Islanders on the road and only managed to advance by winning each of their home games. Stop downsizing Santos win today.

I do not think Santos was ignorant (or arrogant) coming into this series.

The 1st leg was not a 2-0 match if you really think about it. It is not like the Impact broke Santos down from a tactical standpoint. In fact, the Impact never had tactical superiority over Santos.

I just think it was a question of some players committing brain farts in certain sectors of the field that allowed for the team to be caught in a bad position.

Yeah totally. It reminds me of what Carlos Albert said when Vuoso scored against Canada and said basically "It's an embarassment to start celebrating that way when you just tied against Canada!". Everybody gave Honduras and their fans a hard time for celebrating the win against Mexico like that and now we see something similar. I can't believe that even after the Impact were minutes away from eliminating Santos from the tournament and they still don't get credit here from some or that while all the congratulations to Santos for winning and their effort and I'm glad they did it but it was mostly their actions which led to this (overconfidence).

Good job Santos. It's not easy to score 5 goles against a team when they're bunkering with 11 players even if it's a USL team.

Brain farts? It's the f*cking Montreal Impact...

WHy is this such a big deal anyway? Most of you here downplayed the loss last week and come to celebrate the win like if Santos had beaten Barcelona in CL play.

    It's the Montreal Impact

wait once again.. it's the Montreal Impact

Montreal and Puerto Rico are not good teams! They didn't even win the USL cup.

They are good teams for USL but it's not great soccer. I've seen them play live many times here in Miami. Trust me.
