Hey everybody. After we kick ass in Jamaica and before Black and Red's fiesta, come for a little music from a Barra-powered band. Come hang out at a divey bar, hear some rock and roll and blues, and watch your friends make a mockery of the tunes you grew up with. DangerMouse rocks the Grog and Tankard (2408 Wisconsin Ave, NW) on Saturday, March 19 for one set only starting at 8:00 pm sharp (6:30 sharp if you’re like me) and ending at 9:15 plus injury time. Bring your friends and have a blast. Hope to see you there! Andy WHAT: Danger Mouse rocks the Grog WHEN: Saturday, March 19 from 8-9 pm (please arrive by 7:30 pm) WHERE: 2408 Wisconsin Ave. NW (a few blocks south of the intersection with Massachusetts Ave. -- just south of GOOD GUYS, Chico) WHY: Good beer, great people, and extremely mediocre music -- does life get better than that?
When are you going to record a DC United/Barra song??? --I need REAL bands for that DC United compliation thats been floating about Danger!
A song is in the works, though always willing to look at good lyrics if anyone has something they've been working on. Yes, it will have lots of drum parts.
What style of music do you guys play? I may be able to swing by. I just need to know what kind of footwear to bring.
Rock from Hendrix to Lemonheads, blues, some covers, some originals. Generally -- as befits the Barra -- lots of energy. Big fun.
Andy's work on the congos was great. My wife was happy to meet Andy's wife Amy, "a fellow soccer widow."
Thanks to the Barra crowd that showed up. It was a great, rowdy gig -- 2 sets 'cause the second band couldn't play. About 50 people or so I'm told, which isn't so bad at all. Serious fun. We'll definitely do it again, so don't sweat it GM. See if we can't really pack the next gig. Cheers, Andy
