I have never seen a goalie where that many shots have hit the posts or cross bar and not gone in the goal. Either he is lucky or is taking up a lot of space with his positioning, either way go Steffen!
I really would like to see Sosa but it won’t be this week unless we get blown out. I expect a draw but really think we need to address the back up striker position. Jahn starting at any point does not bode well for us.
Hansen went 90 against Akron on Sunday at striker and scored twice. But I totally agree with you. I'd love to see Sosa too, he seemed to be the stand out new player in preseason. A cameo at some point would be nice. I believe he played the full 90 at Pipa's spot in the scrimmage.
I too would like to know this. Probably not for this week, but I have not seen any games being planned for away travel yet.
I can go talk to the Zips men's soccer team today. They practice just about everyday on the training field. I can go watch and talk to them. Please tell my husband that I am doing important opposition research.
Rather than resurrect the blowout comb (which I never entirely understood, but this season has caused me to want to go retro at every turn), I'll shoot for back-to-back win by one Grouchy points.
[ Insert usual rivalry shtick here ] As a follower of this league since day 1, I am just here to say #savethecrew
Late breaking news: Trip to the beach with inlaws cancelled since Father-in-Law thinks 50 is too cold for the beach in the offseason (it's not). This being the case, hangontour makes a triumphant return to Philadelphia on Saturday. Result: Win by two.
Hard to take much from the Union's 2-0 win over the Revs in week one. They played up a man for about 60 minutes and up 2 for the last 5 or so. It was 0-0 before the first sending off. The field looked to be in decent shape, somewhere closer to our field than what we saw in Toronto in our first game. The Union picked up Crew nemesis David Accam in the off-season. I'm sure he'd like nothing more than to abuse Afful to claim Black Star bragging rights. They line up similarly to us in a 4-2-3-1. Sapong plays up top and likely enters happy as he got a new contract recently and scored in their opener. I'd like to see Artur use his fitness and smarts to expose Medunjanin and Fontana in the middle for the Union. Medunjanin lies deep like Trapp with Bedoya in front while 18yo Home Grown Fontana plays the #10 and scored against the Revs. We've struggled in the past at Philly, I'd love to come back with all the points. Zardes is hot, I like our chances.
Josh Williams is not 100% and should not start. Personally I like Abubakar better. But if your CBS are in good form you should not make a change. That would be foolish
I'm looking forward to a 90 minute distraction from PSV and MLS stupidity! 2 PM can't come soon enough!
My guide on my cable box lists the program as MLS Playoffs. The 2-0 start really has people optimistic, I guess.
