We're very nearly at a point where we'll field a team where everyone has at least 1 goal this season except the goalkeeper. I'm wondering if we're nearing a record of total goal scorers for a given season and if a lineup has every been fielded where every player has scored. Crazy that we have 13 goal scorers and 2 wingers who've played a lot of minutes and our back up striker who has as well are not 3 of them.
Kind sir, Alcohol is a hell of a drug. Respectfully, The Management P.S. Could a mod fix the year in the "Previous Meeting" section? kkthxbb
im going against my better judgement by picking this early. should of waited until last minute. oh well
Win by 2 because this is my first game I'll be attending this year. Dont get to make it down very often for games so I'm super excited. I'd like to say my 3 year old daughter will be a good luck charm for the team but she usually claims she likes whatever team that the team I like is playing....so....
There is another rumor of a @Hamburgler03 appearance. It can be confirmed though that Malort will not make this trip to the capital city
Crewfighter better watch his back. Ham looks to be taking over the title of traveling long miles to Crew Stadium.
Good question. Among the 'regular' starters, Artur, Williams, and Martinez have not scored. Though Meram will likely take Martinez's spot, he has not tallied yet either. Lalas & Clark could plausibly start for Josh & Artur, but really are not first choice. I only looked through 2010, but the year I found with the most goal scorers was the injury riddled year of 1997 with 16. We only had 2 players start 30+ games that year (Warzycha, Mais) and only 3 played in 30 (Clark). Friedel started 29, only 5 other field players cracked 20 starts: Clark 28, Salcedo 26, Yeagley 22, Elcock 21, and Lapper 20.All those players scored. As did every field player who started 10+ games save one, defender Sergio Miguez (17 G, 16 GS). He did tally 2 assists. Hard to make a 'first choice XI' from that year with so many injuries (McBride played 13 games, Farrell started only 10, Bliss hurt early, Lapper, Thompson, Dooley joined mid-season), but going by most starts within each position group gets you a starting XI where everyone scores if you sub in Dooley (15 gp, 15 gs) for Sergio Miguez & McBride for Wood (who scored on any case). Pos: Player: G/GS, Goals/Assists GK: Friedel: 29/29, 0/1 RB: Elcock: 26/21, 1/0 RCB: Clark: 31/28, 1/2 LCB: Dooley: 15/15, 4/1 LB: Lapper: 20/20, 1/2 DM: Yeagley: 27/22, 2/1 CM: Khumalo: 18/18, 2/4 CM: Maisonnueve: 32/30, 3/9 RM: Warzycha: 31/31, 3/11 LM: Salcedo: 28/26, 1/5 Fwd: McBride: 13/13, 6/6 ----------Main------Bench--------- Def: Miguez: 17/16, 0/2 Def: Bliss: 12/10, 1/0 Mid: Carrera: 20/14, 3/2 Mid: Farrell: 18/10, 2/2 Mid: Smith: 25/8, 0/0 Mid: Michallik: 10/6, 0/0 Mid: Thompson: 6/4, 1/1 Fwd: Marino: 28/7, 8/4 Fwd: Wood: 16/16, 3/2 We sit on 13 goal scorers right now. Need 3 to tie and 4 to top. Best candidates: Meram, Artur, Williams, Martinez, Sauro, Jimenez, Argudo. Cannot remember if Khumalo played wide more that year or if Salcedo did. Or if they were both central & Elcock played wide MF some games.
I seem to remember that. Or ruled an OG? Or a score in USOC? If you want to open the question up for all competitions (MLS, PO, USOC, CONCACAF) instead of just MLS you could get a different answer.
Justin Meram hat trick! Justin Meram hat trick! La la la la La la la la Oh Justin Meram You are the love of my life Justin Meram.
Fuenmayor just got a red vs KC. He's been good for Houston this year. He's a CB, very similar to Abubakar, but even more aggressive and reckless. This is his second red card of the season, plus he had another suspension for yellow card accumulation.
Yep. Elis will be a huge miss for Houston. I think this will be the first game the wife and I go to this year, was looking forward to watching Elis live. Oh well, at least Quioto will be there. Fuenmayor and Ceren are decent losses as well. I expect Houston to bunker even more than usual now. 4-4-2 should be used from the start by Berhalter IMO. Houston usually counters with just their front 3, but with no Elis, we'd really only have Quioto and Monotas to worry about.
