Defense was a little too loose in the first half IMO. Chi had a few chances that they blew. Mensah has his usual cringeworthy moment (backheel pass in the box) Otherwise I agree.
3-0 final. Zardes drew a PK (converted by Higuain) and scored a brace. Clear MOTM. The whole team had good moments and pretty much everyone had at least one groaner. Fortunately, Chicago didn't make us pay. It looks like Tchani and Higuain are arguing midfield as the teams head to the locker room.
Score us a goal, Gyassi Zardes, Score us a goal, tonight, ‘Cause we’re all in the mood, for a victory, And you’ve got us feelin’ Alright.
I hate chicagos announcers, but listening to them was so much better than our guys. I've really grown to dislike neil and dwight as a team. Too many weird analogies, tangents about nothing, unfunny zingers, etc.
To each his own I guess. (I think a lot of sportscasters are simultaneously liked and disliked.) I’m fine with their styles and chuckle at their tangents.
I just want to be clear about this because when I listen to Neil and Dwight it's ambiguous. 3G is the sporting director, right?
According to dwight GB is: Sporting director of Crew SC. And also coach of Crew SC. He signs players for Crew SC. Some other stuff too for Crew SC.
Best match of the season. The best expression of Berhalter’s possession, build from the back philosophy. The difference was the agression. Go right to goal. No hold up. They ran the Fire off the pitch. The Fire had their pockets picked so many times it was ridiculous. Zardes had two goals but his first was all Hansen. What a run he made culminating in a perfect pass that all Zardes needed to do was to tap it in. That was two matches in a row Zardes had an easy chip in. I think the defensive middle is probably the best in the League. Clark played great in place of Trapp and made some great tackles. I really enjoyed this match. Kudos to Berhalter for his line up choices this busy week. Sets up a huge match against Red Bulls next week.
Hansen had a good run but a poor game overall. He seems unsure what to do at times and too often dribbles when he should pass and hesitates to move off the ball when he has released it. The tools are there, I hope he learns what to do with them.
He has the work ethic and ability to be coached, unlike previous physically gifted wingers, so there's a chance for Hansen.
Absolutely. His off the ball movement is surprisingly good. Just needs a bit more confidence and assuredness when he's on it. Even so, he has taken on multiple defenders several times this year and beaten them all just by driving straight through them. Nothing fancy at all. I really like him a lot.
Considering the PK would have been #goldenbootleader's first of the night, Pipa would have had to assume that he had another two in him. That's a lot of cool aid
So I am going to be a little sweet before the sour. 1) It has been an honor to stand with/near @DrunkandDisorderly and his sweet family (beautiful wife, adorable newborn boy) this season (your boy is a serious contender in the realest crew fan, kid edition). My two children adore your son. Pulls on my heartstrings to see our kids together. Feels like old times back in 137. Except we do not have to carry chants (and the section is much, much bigger). And we hit our early 30s. I hope our kids get to grow with this team as we have. 2) Boy was it great to see a 3-0 win over that absolutely shitty team from Chicago. Reminiscing about the various run-ins with Chicago thugs over the years brings the hatred back to the surface. I wanted to deck those assholes as they walked in past the playground. Chanting their "Austin in one year" chant reminded me of just how classless those jackwads can be. I do not wish for any fan base to ever lose their team, but I do hope Shitcago has been handed the Cubs' curse. No championships for 100+ (or however long your ********ing horrible lease contract is at Bridgeview). 3) The feeling that the section can drown out those mouthbreathers is priceless. Absolutely priceless. Years ago those subhumans would have owned our stadium with chants. What a relief. Though "this is our house" brought some other tear-jerking connotations tonight. My blood boiled hearing their assine chants (various versions of F-i-r-e and of course, the absolute classy Austin one). Sure you can say trolling is normal. Well ******** you. Take your disease-infected shells as far the ******** away from my beautiful children. Are they even allowed that close to normal kids? Protect your women and children, good people of Crew. 4) And for the end cap -> You came a llllloooooonnnnnggggggg way just to lose! I am glad that oldie (but goodie) was used for those special brand of asshats.
I hope so. I'm cheering for the guy but I haven't seen enough to make me think he's above Gall 2.0. Hope he works out for years to come in a Crew jersey.
I am so ********ing drunk because of this game and I want to kiss you all. Save the ********ing Crew. Thank you. Good night.
