Both of you : Shut it.

For the love of god... we have a place to discuss this — I know you’re both aware of it. Leave the match threads for the matches.

    Random thoughts:

    1) The Capos are still horrible.
    2) The whole atmosphere around the ground is a bit weird.
    3) Actually used the parking lot last night - 11k announced is a tad generous, maybe everyone walked.
    4) The beer prices are outrageous.
    5) Adam Jahn is a terrible terrible footballer. There was a moment where he got the ball, turned to run and the ball just ran away from him. I laughed.
    6) The centre backs are a disaster waiting to happen every week.
    7) See 1

Foos kindly gave me the heads up that my little boy superhero popped up on the broadcast after Afful’s goal (because we stand at the top of 101 in front of the Afful’s House sign). The pure joy (and shock) from a four year old was absolutely heartwarming. He looked so proud. He is now re-watching the whole game.

Thanks, @Kyle Crew. The replay is up, but just not in the place I thought it would be. I am still getting used to ESPN+.

Do you think you can get Foos to post around here again? Haven’t seen him around these parts for a long time.
I wonder why he (or others for that matter) drift away...

This team has played like dogshit for a month. We finally get our first win in several weeks and people are going back and forth and lecturing about the merits of hope of this team staying or going.

This season sucks enough as it is. How bout we keep the same bullshit we repeated dozens of times about the move in the Austin thread and try to keep actual ********in soccer in the game threads?

I mean let's face it, even at it's best this board can be repetitive and insufferable. I don't blame people for taking breaks.

Grella too. Perhaps he shouldn’t have been written off in January.

Sauro is off the injury report now. Is he close to making the gameday 18? Anyone seen him in practice? Since we signed him to a new deal, the team must expect him to be available at some point.

So were the ref’s calls as putrid for home viewers as it was for those in attendance? It seems that at the stadium, the crowd tends to be a bit... overeactionary. But last night seemed fairly justified that the ref had the section’s ire.

I hate to repeat myself, but I tend to use my dad as a sounding board for my annoyance with seemingly poor calls. Last night he was very confused with many of the calls and cards last night. I had wanted to re-watch the full game while Markus watched, but adult responsibilities always seem to take up too much of my time.

Proud parenting moment last night: Leading up to a corner kick, Markus exclaimed some variation of “Crew are not good at corner kicks/Could they finally score on a corner kick?!?” Fellow parents will recognize tone/phrasing similar to one’s own. Also he was ready to remind me that our “players were trying their best” when I would start complaining about them.

Speaking for myself, I don't think people wrote him off, just that he's no Meram and was coming off a bad knee injury IIRC.

Before you go patting yourself on the back too hard after just one appearance, you also said Kekuta Manneh would be the greatest thing since sliced bread, ignoring the fact that Vancouver let him go because of his shit work ethic. Also, they had great players in front of him (attempts to contain laughter) such as past his prime Brek Shea, thoroughly mediocre Marcel de Jong, and then 16 year old Alphonso Davies who still isn't good enough to get off the bench and start regulary a year later.

Since Manneh went to Pachuca on Jan 1, he has played all of 8 minutes. Out of 17 games, he's made the gameday squad once, the same game he got those whopping 8 minutes.

I'm glad Grella is making an impact, I still don't think he's as good as Meram though, and we'll see how he holds up over the season. Let's not get too carried away yet Hang, it's a long season ;)

    That is good news.
Probably awhile til he’s match fit and can start.
I like Lalas but I’m not sure about him as a starter yet.
Mensah, well, he seems to be prone to too many errors. I wouldn’t start him, but no way Gggg benches him, since Gggg brought him in/he’s a DP.

In all fairness, the ref was horrible for both teams. There was neither quality nor bias.
