    When you're right, you're right.

I deeply regret my error. I apologize to all those whom I may have harmed or offended. It was not my intent. I beg, though do not deserve or expect, your forgiveness.

True story. Speaking of french speakers, I am lousy at speaking French. So lousy that it jeopardized my academic eligibility for varsity soccer my jr and senior years in high school. To this day, I only know a few sentences...."Ouvrir la fenetre!" "Il fait du soleil!"

But there were a few other sentences that I could use to boost my grade, since I went to a Christian school. And one way of doing that was memorizing bible verses in French. To this day, I can still recite John 3:16 en francais with no problem in less than 10 seconds flat:

Car Dieu a tant aime le monde, qu'il a donne son Fils unique, afin que quiconque croit en lui ne perisse point, mais qu'il ait la vie eternelle.

The men go north of the desolate lands of Quebec and face Remi Garde and his grotesque and terrible sycophants. We are looking for a victory, but can one of us really win something in this life? What is life? I am going to tell you. She is a cruel mistress. A cold bitch that brings you the least comfort before tearing your heart. It's life.

    Long hard bread.

Stop me if you've heard this one before. What happens when a hype train, tricycle and bad ************************ walk into Montreal? Three points for the good guys. Those cold bitches ain't got shit on us. A beatdown of Massive proportions takes place Saturday and you don't want to miss it as we tear their puny hearts out. That's life for the Crew faithful. Don Garber sucks.

So, Montreal is fighting for their playoff lives. Montreal is 2 points ahead of DC, but DC has 2 games in hand.

Meanwhile, the Crew can clinch a playoff spot on Saturday.

All these games tend to feel bigger at the end of the season, even though you get the exact same 3 points you'd get in April or May.

It's the difference between mistakes yet to be made and mistakes in the past. Less mistakes in the past and we clinch weeks ago.

I am a simple painter-poet searching for my feminine ideal [mid 1960's Catherine Deneuve] as one must do in order to truly be alive.

This is such a weird match. Is Montreal the team that got 7 points from Red Bull, Union, and NYCFC while outscoring them 8-1? Or are they the team that got pasted by DC 5-1?

This is pretty much a must win game for Monteal, but they are so beatable. This is a team that's given up 52 goals this season, the most of any team currently in playoff positions. I have to believe even Gregg Berhalter's offense can find a way to put two past these guys, and I do believe that will be enough for a win.

On another note, Pipa is one caution away from a suspension. Maybe he can just bitch to the referee like he always does and take the yellow this game so he is suspended for the Orlando game and available for his apologists to see at the regular season home finale.

A lot of film scholars and critics rightfully gush about Jacques Demy's use of color and the vibrancy of his 1960's work, as they should. Jacques Demy is a master of cinema and the The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is in my top 3 films of all time (often number 1 depending on my mood and melancholy).

That said, Deneuve really brightens up the screen. I mean even in Roman Polanski's 1965 psycho sexual thriller Repulsion (shot in black and white) Deneuve is radiant.

I'm a early to mid 1960's Anna Karina man myself (with an admitted nod to early 1950's Gloria Grahme as my femme fatale on the side). But really, one could do far worse than Deneuve as the feminine ideal. She's wonderful.

If you're going to reference Deneuve, might as well let the others know how spectacular she was.

Montreal likes to bunker and hit teams on the counter. They'll be happy to let the Crew hold most of the possession, and they'll try to stay compact and clog the passing lanes. Look for Montreal to score on a fast break or take advantage of a bad giveaway.

Regarding their defense... after a rough few months to start the season (27 of the 52 goals they've conceded came during the first 13 matches), they've vastly improved their defense. Since May, they've only given up more than one goal in six of the 18 matches they've played. They've posted six shutouts over that same period of time.

Montreal is just barely clinging onto the final playoff spot, so they need this game way more than we do. I hope that'll encourage them to take more chances and expose themselves defensively. But... I won't be surprised to see this one end nil-nil.

This makes me.....nervous. If Montreal exposes the space our backs leave when attacking we are counting on Mensah/Abubakar/Williams for quick thinking in transition. Not our defense's strong suit. Seems like both teams are made for the other to pick apart.

Santos falls line is 10.5. I have the over.
