Yimmy is exactly the type of Berrio /Cuadrado / Ramos type. In Nacional he did very well, he deserve a call, but so is Izquierdo.

@Doogs, Falcao is injured and won't be in the call up so I didn't understand how it is good. So unfortunate this player is, unbelievable.

Yes. he has a serious injury to recover considering that the call up is today, he won't be able to recover until the game vs. Ecuador (and for sure not vs. Bolivia).

I mind. Concacaf needs to stop being pussys. Join comebol or fk off!!!

They are the annoying rich kid who wants it their way or they take the ball from
    The play ground.

Copa americas hosted in Colombia can lead us to fix our stadiums to hopefully host the WC in the future. Us comes with the bs excuse we have immigrants so teams aren't playing away games or some crazy bs logic for hosting every Copa Oro

They already fixed upgraded the stadiums for 2011 U-20 WC. Colombia is rumored to be in pursue of 2026.

Why do you say so much without knowing anything?

Hadnt seen that. I am still hoping US gets WC 2026, but Colombia would be sweet too.

Is the speculation of a Col only or sharing with another country?

I think I read somewhere that they want more then 1 country hosting. Feel that the only realistic option for Colombia. Issue is what country do we host with. Uruguay/Arg want to as well. Colombia with Venezulea/Peru/Ecuador doesn't make sense as you are automatically qualifying 2 teams that most likely won't qualify. Unless they do the idiotic 48 team bullshit they are planning.

Uribe/Santos floated the idea back in 2011. It is not sure if they'll pursue it but at least there was some talk back then.

who is your captain? Has to be James, Falcao or Ospina. Sanchez and Abel shouldn't even be on the team. Everyone else are easily replaceable. Cuadrado spends 98% of the time diving.

Cmon. There is likely context here.

Cant believe it took Meluk that many words to get his point across.

Unless Falcao returns for a long period, James is this team's leader whether he wears the armband or not.

I think someone with more maturity for starters. We're still putting a lot of hope and pressure on someone young (james). This flipping people off incident is an indicator of that. Falcao should definitely get the armband if hes playing. He deserves to have seniority over James. Other than that, then yea its James all day.

Whos better than sanchez at DM currently?? D. Torres?? Aguilar helps our game flow the same way Michael Carrick helps manutd's game flow.

That diving is the reason we got 3 pts. the other day in case you forgot.

my thing is the captain should be a leader on the field and a starter. Other then James, Cuadrado, Falcao and Ospina no one else is a starter for me. You can change the other 7-8 players as lets get real Falcao been MIA since Jan 2014. SO only 3 real options. Many of you want Cuadrado as a super sub. James is really the only option to be captain. I know many of you will say Zapata.... but again doesn't get play time and think only clear starter in DF is Mina. Even he is kind of switchable with all the good CB talent we currently have.

As for James he is 25.... soon to be 26 has 53 caps and is our 4th top scorer of all time with 18.... 2 from Asprilla..... only non Striker as well. By the time he retires he will break every NT record we have. I don't get why this kid doesn't get more love and respect from fans. If we some how get a result in Ecuador its because he going to pull some random shit from his ass and gift us points. O Yea I forgot.... the 2014 Golden Boot winner at the World cup...... forgot El Pibe had like 12 of those

Whos hating on James? I think everyone here is well aware of all the things James has done. If you take the captaincy away from him it could be worse in the long run. I'm not saying to take it away. All I'm sayin is if Falcao is somehow a starter whenever we play than he should get the armband out of respect. I still think theres a shit ton of pressure on James that isn't helping his mental game out at all. Thats what I'm worried about. Yea 25, still young for a national team captain.

This is the key right there. To you. It doesn't really matter who is a starter to you; what matters is who actually starts. It's beyond clear that Zapata (he's starting again) and Sanchez are starters. More than that, both consistently play well for Colombia. You also forget Arias.

We've been through this before: that James is our best player or game changer does not make him captain material. Go look at Cristian Ronaldo or Messi. Awful, awful captains both of them.

Oh, and more love and respect from fans?? How far removed are you from reality? The kid is a national hero!

    Totally agree.

@ryu79, vice versa bro. James ISN'T the leader with the armband or not. He simply doesn't have what it takes to be one just like @Azucarero said. Doesn't make him to be less good player or less important. He is still our biggest star. But since when your biggest star has to be the captain? Since Falcao will be invited unless he's injury, he should be.if not, Zapata or la Roca or even Cuadrado are better options then James.

I think you misunderstand me. My point was that you could take away the band and the rest of the team will still look to him for leadership, he is that kind of presence on the field and frankly, this is a team devoid of leaders/folks you can depend on. I think Pekerman knows that.

I would be all for Falcao being captain if he is there, btw. He's the only other guy on the field the team would defer to in the same way, imho.

I don't know how much soccer or experience some of you have being a leader on a team or of your peers but its much more then being the best player. I'm not arguing against James but we should not be picking our captain solely on ability, Falcao is a great captain, he leads and sacrifices and sets a strong example for other players. Your captain should be vocal and should be experienced and needs to avoid lashing out at teammates and be willing to do the dirty work that is necessary. James strikes me as a leader, he still has a lot to learn and to mature and is in a difficult time in his career but I do think that it should be Falcao #1 and then James based on what I've seen. Yepes was a great leader, a calm head and did what was necessary and always put the team first, great example for what we want in our captain, teams picking their best player as their captain doesn't make sense, for example Messi is a great player and sets a great example but he's a mute and recluse, not a strong personality that should be the captain.

Exactly! And James is all BUT a vocal player and a leader.

Look at our last captains: Falcao, Yepes, Ivan Cordoba, Pibe. I think that Chicho Serna & Rincon wore the armband several times. Oscar Cordoba wore it. Each one of them is a true leader and had the character to be the captain. James isn't anywhere near that standard and it's OK> Not everyone can be. But it also means that Pekerman must appoint someone else (which won't going to happen).
