Is it just me or is this Col vs Arg friendly on the 11th (my kids are drilling me about attending), ridiculous. No DT on any sides at this point, MANY stars will be missing on both sides and with club seasons just getting going why risk their performance... horrific planning. I'm not paying > $700 to see a non descript bunch of players. I attended a couple of the recent "International Champions Cup" this summer and what they're doing to fans is crazy... charging top dollar to see a bunch of 3rd line Euro club teams? They throw in a couple of 1st team players for 15-30 minutes and fans go crazy ....charge me $10-$25 like they do in AAA baseball and I have no problem but this is such a robbery Rant done.
I think they are forced to play Falcao or James unless they are injured. Haven’t teams canceled friendlies with us in the past when one of them was out? Think it was China
Just goes to show how high demand is for the sport these days that they can charge those rates and sell most of the seats in huge nfl stadiums. I just had to sell my ticket to the game because of a business trip that got scheduled for that day. So annoying!
I think this game has a way better value then the champions cup, good chance if its a FIFA date at least some of the good players are there. Even still though these games are quite often a rip off, I got free tickets to the Barca/United game a few years ago when they were in San Francisco but I've passed on all the other champions cup games, they almost always leave the stars out and it's a huge rip off. People pay it because they it sounds great, you get to see good teams in person which you never get a chance to in North America, but its terrible value for a b team friendly.
The Copa America is next year people; whoever coaches us and whatever south american teams are going to be playing from this point on won't waste a chance to get ready for next year.
Agreed Colombia need to start giving young guys a chance, don't even call the big names yet... Let guys like Jorge Carrascal, Dienner Quiñones, Indio Ramírez, Cucho Hernández, Sebastián Villa, Andrés Ibargüen, Julián Quiñones... Based on characteristics of this and next generation, the style that Colombia has the most of at their best, used in their best way, I think is it best for Colombia to try to play like Manchester City... A 4-3-3/2-3-2-3 with high press and a high backline but not a 3 man back line... I like Guardiola tactics and see how the World Cup went speed can do a lot but to counter that with your own speed and tactics to give you the advantage like a very condensed formation, a tight team. And play up high so the people that are best at passing are close to goal..... We only have a certain number of FIFA friendly days between now and June. The team will more than likely play what ... ...7 or 6 games before we fly to Brazil? And if we do not have a coach before September it would be 5 or less games for that new guy to implement his tactics? I think we should just keep with the same base of guys who played in Russia and add the obvious guys who did not make it plus a couple youngsters. As long as James and Falcao are healthy we should be able to beat anyone in South America.
Hopefully we never hear his name or Carlos Sanchez or Abel Aguilar and our NT ever again Abel is clubless but he would start in september if his dad stays the coach
