I want payback for the 3-0 in Montevideo.

We need to score some goals. It is looking like goal differential is going to be crucial.
But of course obtaining 3 points in any way is the priority.

IF Bacca can wake up from his nap maybe we have a chance to score 5.

2-1. Y eso siendo optimista. Un empate no me extrañaría.

They only been scored on 5 times all qualifiers. So destroying them like that is unlikely. We win and we are in Russia if we then beat Chile at home the next game. We will be 8 points ahead of Chile regardless of their next result. Very hard to catch up 3 games this late in the game.

Peru kind of got robbed against Chile at home and their lost to Bolivia kind of killed their WC chances. 8 points less then us this late in the game is game over. Bolivia lacks the talent and shocked they even have 7 points. Venzuela really disappointed they were much better the last two qualifier cycles

Paraguay/Chile need to knock us or Ecuador out of the Russia. We have 4 away points against them so winning our home games against them seals the deal + we are 2 games above them. We need to lose 2 and they need to win two to catch up.

It is unlikely but it still can happen. We just have to be more efficient with our chances and set the tempo of the game. Which means toque-toque and playing with methodical slow passing with some quick tempo variants when needed. Play more of a game of technical finesse rather than physicality.

If we play this game in a rugby style of grind it out match like Uruguay wants it to be then we are in trouble.

beIN Sports USA - Broadcast starts at 5:55 PM

Uruguay leads the group currently with 19 points
Colombia is 4th in the group with 16 points but Argentina and Ecuador also have 16 points

    1. Will James feature?
    2. How much will the lineup deviate from Thursday's 4-3-3?
    3. Will we utilize Macnelly given his track record in Barranquilla?
    4. Suarez and Cavani will need to be closely marked
    5. 3 points will put us in the driver's seat and give some breathing room for future qualifying matches
    6. 0 or 1 point will keep us in top 5 - but a win at home is vital especially with goal difference separating teams ranked 3-5 at the moment.

I am confident we can get a result.. i dont care if it is 1-0 or 5-4 we need the win... (actually a 5-4 game could be really fun!)

I like the idea if Muriel, Sanchez and Bacca starting but maybe at home play less long ball and start Abel + someone else amd Bacca or Muriel and Cardona on the left?!?! I'd say Bacca has to start... Cuz of clout... And Muriel can come on for him late... And also like to see Berrío come on late too and Sanchez come on late as well and hopefully by then he's coming on to close out the win..... I just don't want to see long balls that are not to winnable..
I kike Abel shirt passing game, and Macnelly us better at home.... Same for Pérez... And want also Cardona to start... He earned it, tho he is pretty clutch as a super sub..
But the thing yhat made me want to post is what does everyone think with at some point maybe late in the game or around 60th bringing Muriel to be the striker closest to goal?????

I hope we. Play a more 4231 that can turn into a 4222

But that means Muriel starts and starts like henhas on the left.. But I kind of want to see him close to goal.. I'm jusy curious how he would do being thw closet to goal and maybe dropping dienuand having another forward playing his role... Maybe starting Cardona on left of 4231 and starting Abel which passes better than Sanchez and some else like Barrios or Perez so Colombia play less counter and more possession style.. And also start Mac...And of course Cuadrado too..

So James left the camp today. He's going back to Madrid meaning that he won't be in this match.

Actually I wouldn't mind, Mac can work also for me. I wanted to give a reward to Cardona for his goal, who may continue his good momentum. But this 4-2-2-2 offensive formation should be used in Barranquilla. Bacca and another striker next to him...

I agree that Cardona should be rewarded for his goal so I personally would start him too.
The only reason I would be hesitant to start him in a game like this is because Uruguay is going to try their very best (or worst) to get under his skin.
We know how they can be.
