Yeah I think Colombia will dominate the air space. Except James, he loses every ball in the air. I wouldn't be surprised if Muriel and Cuadrado started, as we need speed. Diaz is an option of course. Barrios and Uribe are the obvious starters.

Roger is also an option too. His role on the wings seems to be set based on the last two friendlies. Looked good on the right against Peru.

Any word on attendance? Are we going to have the support we’ve had in recent tournaments?

    Good question.
I read an article that said Brasil (obviously) Chile and Colombia were the Nations with the most Ticket sales.

Argentina and Peru also made the top 5.

For this match though I am not sure if we will be the "home" team. I expect it to be split unless the Brazilian locals who usually do not like Argentina also root for us.

I actually am not that nervous about this match.

At least not as anxious as I get before a World Cup match or a Qualifier.
I feel kind of confident really. But that may change as kickoff comes around.

Argentina have the best player in the world and they have a front 3 of players who've played lots of games together but the team has lacked cohesion for 4 years and I doubt that will change if we do our job. We have to have balance to win this game, we need to be organized to deny Messi too much space and ability to get on the ball but this Argentina defense is shaky so we should have lots of chances to score. Its tough to go right at a team with Messi so sacrificing somewhat to deny his space then counter seems to make sense, hopefully Falcao won't get isolated up top too often though because we've seen that movie before.

somebody mentioned that 50,000 tickets had been sold and from what I've seen looks like a good amount of Colombians in Brasil.

Quieroz is going for it, love that. But lets see if this was the right way to go about it

    Medina is the only surprise.

    Not sure about this move.

Arias is our best winger. And Medina...the guy only ever plays in the most difficult matches, and we know his history in those matches...

    I like the lineup otherwise.

Is Arias injured? There’s no reason Medina should start over Arias.

Arias provides a lot offensively and is very solid defensively, and has a ton of chemistry with James.

There has to be a reason he chose Medina over Arias. Perhaps Medina defends better?

I like that he's rewarding Medina who played well in the friendlies but Arias is a very consistent performer and plays at a high level. I would have gone with Duvan for this game and let Falcao start the other but hopefully it works out.

I really hope Cuadrado can play quickly in transitions and release the ball a bit quicker. I like this formation and the personal but Cuadrado can be so frustrating playing for Colombia some times.

Arias defends better no question. The only thing that Medina has is that he is better with his left.

Hope to see Muriel play 100% and make his presence felt for 60 min before we make a sub.

Alright let's do this guys. We need to conquer our fears and mentality issues if we hope to channel and go beyond than what we're able to do. That is if this team hopes to properly challenge any other team for any major tournament that we want to win.

Argentina is the home team on account of them being the higher seed
