He was told Cucho was our most promising player but then Chucho showed up.

This team does not have a midfield. This team does not have the creativity it needs in the attacking midfield to break down defenses.
The Senior team does especially when someone like JuaFer is healthy to unlock the opposition.
Yet another reason why I think someone like "Chucho" would actually be better fit working with the Senior team coming off the bench.
We saw him have a good chemistry with Cuadrado in a brief amount of time and took advantage of good service.

At least the US won...that lifts my spirits a bit.

Now this is obvious but even at third place we can sti easily qualify. The question is how many goals can we get and how the match between Poland and Senegal will go.

2nd place will likely play Uruguay or NZ. Third place can play against Uruguay, NZ or Italy (likely). That NZ team has so far been the most fun to watch. Not sure who I would prefer to play in the next round between those 3 :coffee:.

    Agreed.
Either New Zealand or Uruguay would be pains in our necks to play.
Not optimistic about either probable match -up.

I would imagine it's best to know your competition well and Uruguay would fill that box. They didnt have a great qualifier and inconsistent (like us) so that's a positive.

I returned from Poland, it was really fun. Due to the flight back, I missed the Senegal match, but I understood that I didn't miss a thing. We deserve to lose, according what I read. It's a shame but we will qualify of course, there's no way that we won't beat Tahiti and with 6 points we are through. But yes, the performance should worry us, especially Cucho's. Maybe ti put him as a mediapunta behind Sandoval could work. He seemed lost when he played as lone striker.

Yeah maybe we didnt deserve to win and senegal was a fair winner.

But the difference agasint the africans wasnt huge.............yea we were the shy team in the field..........but the goals were two pks and even the referee didnt wisthle one for us over cucho..that would mean the 1-1.

Yeah a mtach like that in senior NT for me would be a tragedy.....but in this context i wasnt so worry. we knew that they were favorites before the match....and maybe also have 30 years

I don't know about the age Argument at 20 these guys are men. Maybe their balls didn't drop at 16 at the U17 level but not like they are getting taller at 19/20.

Bad game plan and coaching. WE got out coached. They marked Angulo very well and Cucho is coming off some muscle problems. Why didn't he make subs earlier.

Luckily best 3rd makes it and Tahiti should be a cake walk but unless Poland beats Senegal and we score 8 on Tahiti we won't be in 1st place.

Your ignorance is so big if you think that a player of 20 years wont improve anymore......if senegal players are older and not 20...obvously are btter players... all that age argument is fantasy. but with the precedents of african teams we cant discard....at least they are potence in this categories.

No, If we lost because two specific mistakes of our defenders...........isnt because senegal was much superior.....

“luckily“ best 3rd.....we have a lot of chances of being second place because we defeated poland.

Finishing 1st we get a easier team next round. Being in the home team group we probably would have gotten the worst 3rd place team

Now for the 30 year old players. They weren’t playing pro for 10 years. Also to your point we lost because we didn’t have a MF and 2 silly defensive errors that lead to PKs.

Age is more an issue at the youth level of u17. That Nazarith kid seemed like he would be a monster. He was just bigger/stronger then everyone else

We have a bunch of U20 that start in the 2nd divison of colombia maybe call them instead of guys who play in the U20 leagues abroad.

I am going to be optimistic and say Poland beats Senegal 1-0 and we beat Tahiti 5-0 and win the Group.

Would be nice but after you winning by 4 to keep attacking is kind of a dick move when the other team has nothing

Can lead them to injure your guys but wouldn’t be upset with a huge win so we are first with Senegal losign

Colombia is playing bad. Very erratic passing

The qualifiers they could blame on the coach being with the youth team but this seems like a lack of competitive games as friendlies

Goal but a real bad play

Only reason they are scoring is they are playing a crap team

Angulo and Cucho need to be subs
