Why don’t they go after Dep Cali, Envigado or Nacional youth team guys. Don’t they have the best youth divisions?

    Been shitty since Rueda.

    Who did Picis pass on?

I know Lara passed on Freddy Montero, Cardona, Cuadrado!!, and a few others that were kind of not very forgivable

I mean I don’t get why the U20 isn’t a team in the league or 2nd Division and they get to ask clubs for players. Fine if a player is a starter for their club you can’t keep him for very long like the case with Marlos Moreno and Davison when they were at Nacional.

But that way we can have a starting young goalie.

Or if not why they don’t just call up 1/2 or Dep Cali when they were 80% U20 guys

Bueno.

CB is our only real strong positon. Falcao is 32 by the end of the WC. No other strikers other then him is at that level. Everyone else is just promising.

Then attacking MF we have Cuadrado who is getting up their and James and Cardona. Izquerido looks very good but hasn’t really been given a shot.

Currently Colombia is 5 top class players with a super limited bench and decent dudes around them. Can the other 6 guys be better or replaced fk yea but where they going to come from.

You’ve seen how sad we play with out James or Falcao or Cuadrado. Or even worse how easy it is to score on us without Ospina who face it is a decent keeper but nothing special. Or how the team just can’t attack at all if Abel isn’t in the MF. Maybe the Abel thing is down to Pekermans coaching but when those 5 dudes don’t play all at the same time we are a Concacaf team at best

I'm talking about u-20 players, not about the senior team. And the fact that they are promising is a good thing, don't you think? The ones that must take the Next step are the teams, giving them the chance to play no Matter their age. I watch several youth tournaments during the year and we have a lot of talent in midfield and forward positions. But It seems that getting better fullbacks is becoming increasingly harder, even for those kind of tournaments.

There are only two that I Hope make the roster because of their potential, Yilmar Celedón (Nacional Left back 2000) and Mateo Garavito (Quindío right back 2000). Also that's quite some faith you have in our players calling them concacaf level. We might have a couple of hard cycles ahead of us, but talentwise they are superior to most concacaf and conmebol teams.

But you know something, these kind of players are very different from the previous generation, it's not so much "vamo a ponele huevo" but a very talented group of players. Arrascaeta, Pereiro from PSV, Nandez and Valverde are some incredible talent. Maxi Gomez is a very complete striker. Another player I really like from Uruguay is Jose Rodriguez, a right back from Peñarol, to me he will fill that position very soon. Very talented.

I guess Tabarez will retire after the World Cup, and whoever takes this group of players will have to take full advantage of their abilities, because Uruguay can certainly play some beautiful football now, not just the old counterattacking big balls game. The thing is that having great players doesn't make a team, there needs to be a cohesion and hopefully the new coach is able to bring it and incorporate some of them.

got to have a manager that knows what he has too. No clue who Uruguay will be bring post Tabarez. Nandez is a defensive midfielder no? Is he similar to Barrios?

I've read that Coito (the one who has been doing the process with the Uruguay u-17 and u-20) might be the Next coach. But Who knows, they might decide to contract Gallardo or another Argentinian, after all, they have a very good crop of managers currently.

    Fk Uruguay they aren’t us!!!

We need to replace them in the SA standings. Better league and more fking people. Feel they are over rated because they have easier time getting EU passports
