Wait they just had another friendly just now? Didn't they had one a few days ago?

edit: sorry I didn't realize that it was a previous one.

Honestly I am more worried about our opponents from Group C. Uruguay and Chile are never pushovers for us and if we somehow manage to win our group, we're likely gonna have to face them both in a row given by how the tree is set up.

And if we do get second place as expected then Brazil would be the only guaranteed scary opponent if the matches go as expected...vibes from 2014 still bring anger to me and I was hoping that just maybe there will be a upset to where we wouldn't have to face them at all in this tournament.

Uruguay is a very dangerous team as they are in most Copas.
Still have to see how effective Luis Suarez will be after such a long layoff though.

Chile is getting older by the minute and is having such a tough time adjusting to Rueda's tactics. Some fans/media members also do not like the fact the Keeper Bravo was left off the squad.
Things are getting really volatile there and Rueda is not expected to be the manager after the Copa from what I have been reading. They would probably have to make it to the Semis to guarantee his job security.

Friendlies really don't tell a story or forecast what's going to happen. Argentina lost badly to Venezuela with Messi on the field in Spain but I still Argentina as a top 3 favorite to take the whole thing. Yes, even this Argentina.

Brazil is playing at home. They are still a stacked team with lots to prove and they have ALL the pressure to win. Surely, it helps that they have a manageable group to start the tournament.

Having watched the Qatar v Brazil match, they have some speedsters but they lack creativity in that MF and final 1/3. They were hacking the hell out of Brazil.

Yes. I am just saying that they have relied a lot on Neymar and have looked very anemic with very little ideas without him. But I also said they have time to adjust and can still win the Copa. Being at home helps in some ways as long as they don't start losing. Those fans are not going to tolerate underachieving so they better be ready.

I'm still amazed at how Coutinho has just lost all confidence. He was nearly unstoppable at Liverpool but since joining Barca and in his NT, he has not impressed. If he wakes up though, they will def make a deep run.

Having a game like Bolivia should help open the floodgates and the confidence of Coutinho and most of those players.
Then again, we have seen Bolivia put up some fights in recent Copa Americas against superior teams so you never know.
We have a week to wait and see what happens.

    gracias Faryd ...haha

Bolivia actually does have some decent guys on the ball and they are at times really competitive. They seem to choke in that last :20-:25. I can't imagine Brazil starting out with a loss or tie....the world would come down on them!

On another note it seems like the Montero drug situation will not be resolved until later next year. So he seems cleared to play in the Copa America until the case is reviewed and finalized.

He is a good complement for Dudamel's style. He has a lot of knowledge and can certainly help them in possession and positioning tactics.

Glad Maturana is no longer associated with the coaching gig BUT he's a legend.

    Here is my forecast:

Lose to Argentina, beat Qatar and Paraguay, pass as second of group B.
Beat Peru in QF, Lose to Brasil in Semifinals, Beat Argentina in 3rd place game.
    Final between Brasil and Uruguay.

How is it that we lose to Argentina in the group but somehow beat them for 3rd place? They'll be playing for pride.

Because being Colombians, when there's nothing to lose, we will play way better, and also Messi will be totally out of it, knowing that CR7 has won two more NT titles than him.

I'd take that third place hypothetical but know we can do better.

Anything other than playing in the final would be a disappointment to me. This is our “golden generation”, and time is running out for some of our top guys. Its about time they live up to their potential because god knows what the future holds...just look at whats happening with Chile.

I want to agree with this.
But it is difficult to expect a Final when our manager barely knows the names of the people he is coaching. I hope the talent and the experience can compensate for that but I can see why people think this team will fail somehow.
