Harder Stadium will host in 2018 and 2020
Santa Barbara will rotate with Cary, NC which gets the NCAA back after the state rescinded its controversial bathroom bill. They'll have it in 2019 and '21.
This year it will be in Chester, PA

seems like an acknowledgement that the smaller cities with a history of decent support for the College Cup are a better option than MLS cities/stadiums at this point.

Let's start with a decent playing surface ...

Harder Stadium had its field 'prior to the 2010 Cup, I imagine they'll do the same for '18 and '20. Soccer is the flagship sport for SB and facilities and financial support for the sport far exceeds others at the school. Field quality should not be an issue.

Think he was talking about the crap the NCAA through out in Houston this year ... MLS Stadiums that are being used for high school/college football games negate any supposed advantage in field quality which creates the unholy trinity of poor soccer event: poor field, poor weather and poor atmosphere. Throw in a final that is 36 hours from the semi and you have all the makings of a less than optimal showcase for your event. NCAA has to get this right one of these days.... SB is a start but the semi on Friday night with a Sunday afternoon game is a disgrace. The NCAA, Administrators and ESPN are to blame.

Games 2 days apart is pretty much the NCAA competitive standard practice throughout the season.

in the beginning of the year and maybe in the semi/finals of some conference tournaments but after the beginning of the year very few teams play friday/sunday and never end at midnight with a noon game 36 hours later (thank ESPN who doesn't give a $hit but can fill programming vs. Bowling and Figure Skating on other channels against the monster ratings of the NFL)

All Wolverines remember Santa Barbara fondly. It's a nice venue and beautiful town with great weather. I wish it were there every year.

The games Fox Soccer use to do from there were some of thebest crowds I ever saw for college. can't remember if it was UCLA or Poly but one of them had around 18000 fans I think. Road trip to SB sounds a bit more fun than to Chester. !!!

The College Cup should be held in Santa Barbara every year, much like the College World Series is in Omaha (which UCSB participated in in 2016 :D). Will make for a better tv product.
