Perdimos anoche, 1-0. Xolos anotó en el tiempo complementario, minuto 90 y pico. Mañana el que sigue, en San José contra el Atlás.
And by the buey, here's the final roster. El profe Pizzi got the defenders he wanted (Burdisso and Novaretti), Burbano is back with his honey, and there's some interesting younger guys. Let's see if he can make this work.
¡We don't need no stinkin' delanteros! Steven Almeida and Elías Hernández scored in today's 2-2 tie against Atlas.
The team is now in Blaine, MN for their game tomorrow vs. Minnesota United. The previous preseason game against Chivas ended in a 2-2 tie, with goles by Boselli and Elías Hernández.
León tied Minnesota United, 1-1 last night. That means we tied 5 and lost 1 of the 6 preseason games. Hopefully this is all meaningless and everything will fall into place once it matters. Hopefully.
Apparently when the third kit was brought out, people booed. Not sure if they booed the color or the fact that Pirma is still the uniform supplier. Pirma is a Mexican brand, locally made right there in nearby San Pancho (S. Francisco del Rincón). Maybe fans want some Adidas, Nike, etc. Who knows.
Also today, fuerzas básicas action... Actividad Fuerzas Básicas #J1:#Sub15 | vs @atlasfc | 9 AM#Sub17 | vs @ClubSantos | 10 AM#Sub20 | vs @ClubSantos | 6 PM#VolveremosARugir— Club León (@clubleonfc) July 25, 2015
Piojo this, Piojo that, y la cabeza nada más da vueltas y vueltas.
Won again! It's been two games in Liga MX, but there's already a disturbing pattern (I know, two games don't make a trend). Both times León struggled up until a player from the opposing team got red carded. In this case, León was down 0-1 at the half, and then Veracruz had a player tossed off in the 57th minute resulting in a penalty kick that Boselli missed. Sabah tied it in the 70th and then Veracruz fell apart. At least we pushed and kept the pressure. And if Boselli hadn't missed, hat trick!
Won't put the whole thing here, don't want to upset the fans of the team in last place after two weeks of action. With the goal differential, we're #1!!! Let's hope it lasts.
What a game! León was down twice and tied the game each time. We were also ahead at the half, and gave up the lead. The last goal came in the 89th minute, by Burbano. Gonzalo Ríos actually got one into the net in the 92nd minute but it was ruled off sides so it didn't count. Still undefeated in both Liga and Copa MX.
