THE CLEVELAND CITY STARS ROUND UP THEIR ROSTER
WITH THE ADDITION OF FIVE NEW PLAYERS

April 20 While the USL Second Division is officially starting with their first game tonight in Charlotte (NC), the Cleveland City Stars added two forwards, two defenders and a midfielder to the roster bringing the total to 19 officially released players today. This should give Head Coach Martin Rennie plenty of options for a strong starting eleven with good depth from the bench. As CCS prepares for their first official league game next Saturday April 28th down in Cincinnati, the coaching staff will work hard to bring all these talentedplayers together as a team and to keep them healthy for the Stars debut.

Adrian Balc, a home grown talent from Hudson, Ohio who also played at Cleveland State University, has been added at forward to give the offense more firepower. He spent last year with the popular Cocoa Expos, a Premier Development Team from Florida. He also has played a considerable number of minutes for the Cascade Surge in Salem, Oregon in 2004.

Joining Balc at forward is Anthony Stovall who has played professionally with the Southern California Seahorses where he earned player of the week honors, and the USL 2nd Division Charlotte Eagles. Stovall also spent part of the 2005 season training and playing with Chivas USA (Major League Soccer). He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.

A teammate of Stovall's from South Carolina is Jack Cummings, a Cincinnati native who will be facing his former teammates next week when he returns home for the season opener. Cummings spent time with the Cincinnati Excite indoor soccer team and was named to the USL Team of The Year 2nd Team in 2005 while playing for The Cincinnati Kings. He played midfield in college and has a great deal of versatility both vertically and horizontally on the field.

The back field will get another defender with the signing of Jeremy Tolleson. A man of few words, Tolleson lets his play speak for him. While in college at Wheaton he earned All Conference 1st Team honors in 2001, 2002 and 2004. In 2004 he was also named to the PDL Team of the Year while playing for the Cascade Surge.

Considered one of the best midfielders in the USL Second Division, Chris Lemons will control the middle. Lemons began receiving recognition for his play in high school when he was twice named to the All State 1st Team. While in college at Oklahoma Christian University, Lemons was voted to the All American 1st Team twice and the All Conference 1st Team twice.
Professionally he has spent time with Cambran Town FC in Cardiff, Wales (2002), Virginia Beach Mariners and Indiana Blast (2003) and the USL 1st Division Charlotte Eagles (2004-2006) where he helped bring home a National Championship in 2005.

But Chris Lemons brings much more to the franchise and the City of Cleveland, as he has a true heart of a teacher and loves to see his "students" succeed. This desire to give back to the community will be put to good use as Lemons coordinates the inner-city outreach programs for CCS this summer. The innercity programs kicked off this past week and will continue to grow and expand throughout the season.

"It is great to see the final pieces of the puzzle put into place," commented CCS General Manager Mark Geissbauer. "This is an exceptional group of individuals who together will make a tremendous difference in the City of Cleveland. We cannot wait to introduce them to the Cleveland Home Crowd Fans on May 19th!" he went on to say.
