Bürki Akanji Hummels Zagadou Hakimi Brandt Weigl Guerreiro Hazard Reus Sancho After MD1, I thought the draw was the key to progress. But the missed penalty against Barca really hurts us now. First, it would have been in our hands to reach the next stage. Secondly, Barca wouldn't be in a position where they could field a B-team as they needed a result against Inter or face elimination themselves. It really sucks that Inter gets the deciding match against Barca when they are secure in first place.
Sancho with the early goal. Reus missed two 1 on 1s. Bürki had two big saves. Barca leads in the other game.
Reus almost always has some kind of issues when it comes to finishing, thas was never his bright side to be honest. He needs 2-3 great chances to score. Im just happy no Lukasz, no Schulz are in the first 11 and i hope it stays that way
We lose the ball too quickly from goal kicks. Prague put so many players forward to press and we can't take advantage of it. Instead, we lose the ball after 3 contacts.
And we cannot complain despite the chances for Reus. Bürki made one mistake but he also had 3 huge saves. Otherwise this would have been a disaster. We really struggle to maintain any kind of control.
Classic Hummels mistake, charging ahead to attempt a challenge and leaving a hole in the center which was exploited by Slavia for the goal. Welp
We have so many counterattacking situations that we just cannot convert. But that is also a warning that Slavia really wants a result here. Otherwise they wouldn't give us this kind of space.
We are begging to concede a goal. Good saves by Hummels and Bürki followed by another dangerous corner. We make so many easy mistakes that are hard to explain.
We win but it wasn't pretty. We are lucky Barca gave a damn. If we play like that, the CL campaign will be over very fast and it might be humiliating. This was the second game where Prague wasn't worse than us and we somehow manage to win. I thought the 5:0 would give the team confidence and for a few minutes after the first goal it looked like it. Towards the end, it seemed as if some players weren't really there.
to quote Phil Jackson: "It was not well done, but it was done" we can enjoy the vacation at least thinking we are still in UCL. They can take Valencia... let's hope for a lucky draw.
this game was way closer then it shouldda been, so many chances wasted, luckily burki was in god mode to keep us in. im not happy with performance but a win is a win, ill take it
