Think the team's failure had more to do with the coach's starting same lineup on 3 days rest.
    Great.

Not just the coach, most of the players simply wasn't on form.

I think this is where having to help out Bradley defensively makes McKennie look poor offensively. Anyone who's watched him a while knows he feasts on late runs and is great on crosses into the box. If he wasn't there as an outlet it is because he was tasked with too much. Adams could hold his own back there freeing McKinney to be free radical along with whoever the other 8/10 player he's paired with.

At this point, having Bradley on the field is detrimental for the team.

A year or two ago you can make an argument for having Bradley on the roster, since there's no other players ready to take over. You can't say that any longer with two young starting midfielders in the BL. If both Adams and McKennie are healthy and not starting in our midfield together, than you know for damn sure that this USMNT is run by the MLS.

Bruce started 4 forwards essentially and Nagbe and Bradley? WTAF?

He could have started real midfielders. I would have gone with the get a result lineup. I said as much before kickoff.

    Wood/Jozy (45 each)

    Pulisic

    Benny-Bedoya

    Bradley Dax

    Villafana Besler Cameron Yedlin

Pulisic scores his first for Chelsea and it's a nice shot from distance off the break.

And now he earns a penalty.

what a half .... CP starts with the best eleven and he takes his chances well.

RB will not try and defend him anymore with one ....

about 10 minutes and he and Barkley just took Salzburg apart.

Chelsea faithful now must be very happy with what they see he is capable of.

Chelsea was soaking up the pressure for the first 15-18 mins (Salzburg were attacking hard) and then three breaks and quick attacking passing and great play by Pulisic and Barkley .. and it was 3 - 0 .... just like that.

slash and burn. I don't know what it was but it just clicked ... in addition to quick attack CP and Barkley had some great passing interchanges that were very quick and unlocked Salzburg.

I long thought BVB made a mistake by playing him on the right the majority of the time.

Just looks more explosive coming in from the left and onto his right foot.

Well, since Jesse Marsch is the coach of Salzburg, he must have intentionally set up their defense to help his fellow American to shine...;):ninja::whistling:

Pulisic named to Chelsea bench for the Man U game. I really had hoped he would start. Hope he gets some minutes. Well see

Mount completely botches a huge chance. Must be why he started.

Were literally not even an entire game into the season. Chill out and stop overreacting. I thought he should start but I get why he didn’t. He was late to camp. Barkley and Mount both had great preseasons. We’re starting against Man U not Norwich. His expectations are already sky high.
