    That second paragraph is brilliant.

that whole move at the end from break out, to getting defender on heels to pass was really something. More of that, please.

Pulisic playing centrally is a $80M transfer waiting to happen. His value on the wing is cut in half. Favre’s tactical options open up if CP is played centrally. He’s so much more dangerous and his impact greater in that position. The kid looked good today. I hope to see him played a full 90 on the weekend in that spot.

For a few weeks now the press has been bugging Favre about his rationale for not playing Götze. I suppose they got their answer, for now.

I know he's American. But he wouldn't be the first US citizen (or any citizen) to abandon their homeland to play for another. Whether it's the land of their parents or their grandparents; just glad he chose us.

What? Can you please explain this logic? You mean if he plays centrally he is automatically going to get a bid for $80M but if he plays on the wing no one would pay more than $40 for him?

Wouldn't a manager that sees him play on the wing not be a good enough manager to know that he's A) worth $80, and B) Know he'd be better off playing in the middle and simply buy him and then play him centrally in his own club?

Your logic doesn't make any sense.

He played in the cup game for sure. You're right tho he mostly has been a rotation guy so far -- good, maybe Favre knows something. My view was skewed just watching the pre-season and the cup opener and today.

Kagawa hasn’t played a competitive minute since the World Cup either. It’ll be interesting to see if Favre occasionally mixes things up with a #10 going forward.

Sorry the logic doesn’t makes sense to you. It’s quite simple. He’s more productive, influences the matches more and overall is a better player centrally. His team benefits immensely. Thus his value increases. And to preface, I’m basing that on playing a complete season on wing versus a complete season centrally. Oh and no I’m not confident in some managers, even high level managers, always making smart decisions regarding a player’s best position — Mourinho, Conte, Allegri, etc. All I am saying is that over a course of a season playing centrally CP’s value will go up. I don’t think it’s a leap to make that assumption.

You were specific. You said if he played on the wing his value in the transfer market would be half of what it would be if he played centrally? What? How did you reach that conclusion? I know you said "More productive", and "it's quite simple." Can you site an example? I am looking for specifics because you talked as if it were fact and i'm not sure I remember him playing a complete season in either position and seeing his value go up and down. What do you know that I may be missing here? I mean...Half? Where did you get that from? He's half as productive on the wing so his value should be 50% less or?

Is it me or is YA the only forum were a few here actually have all these values in place based on fantasy football like stats. I'm not sure how many times me and other posters have to say, it doesn't fucking work that way 90% of the time. His value isn't going to increase/decrease if he plays in the CAM position vs on the wing - much less from $80M to $40. That's just fucking nuts.

Relax. Jesus. No need to get your panties in a wad. 8 question marks in a paragraph is overboard. I get you don’t share my position. However, I stand by my statement that playing a full season centrally will see his value rise. I don’t think it’s far fetched to believe that. Fine, I’ll admit that I don’t know if it’s in half. We won’t know until offers roll in. I don’t have stats in front of me to support my claim. I bet I could go out, find them, and finagle them to what I want them to mean tbut It’s not worth it for the sake of the argument to do so. I’m not going to go around and around and around on the subject. Can’t I believe his value will go up if played a full season centrally? There’s no harm in that belief. I respect you don’t think so and that’s cool. Agree to disagree.

I know nothing about fantasy football or any football video game for that matter. Nothing. It doesn’t appeal to me. I don’t care for it. My opinions aren’t shaped by that. So I can’t be lumped it that category. Sorry.

  15. Possession means nothing without creating something. I noticed the BVB goalie saved at least 5 times the club from getting a goal against. What one can blame Brugge was not to score as when they would've done it would've been an embarrissing night and people here in this thread calling for CP to get out fast.
Wonder if that defelection against CP's leg into the goal is recorded as a shot too.
    Come on, you're being ridiculous.
Or did these guys watch another match?

  17. The fact is for some a mistery.
A potential buyer views a players worth in a spot he wants to use him in and assesses him accordingly. If he thinks that player is worth 80 million there and his value mystically is 40 because of the spot he operates that buyer jumps in at 40 to save 40. He's not going to wait until the player actually plays on the spot the buyer needs him.
But I guess playing FIFA fantasy manager makes people believe the real world is a mirror of that game.

Great all touch video. He does a great job of immediately looking for the most aggressive option. And that video was only 20 minutes - he was very involved, goal aside.

Not true. Can’t switch a player from side to central on FUT. So us FUTheads are aware of that limitation. Otherwise, everything we learn from playing FIFA is exactly analogous to the real world and makes all of us experts of tactics, budget management, transfer markets, and roster construction.

Also, we excel at using fitness and healing cards, which are quite obviously underutilized in the Big 4 and UCL. Treatment specialists there tend to rely only on doctors and horse placenta. It’s completely irrational.

To be fair the transfer fee obsession mostly seems to be a Pulisic thing rather than a YA thing in general. But yeah, even that is quite weird. We finally get a player good enough for Dortmund and before he even played a full season the dominant train of thought was about him leaving the team.

To be doubly fair, there’s been tons of media speculation all along the way to encourage the talk here.

And more importantly, we’ve never had a Yank be considered one of the top 5-10 most valuable young players in the world. So it’s not surprising nor misplaced to discuss it here imo because the rest of the world has been doing the same.

Transfers are brought up in almost every thread. It’s just that most of our players are worth about $200 and some used training equipment.

My favorite segment other than the goal is that last one, where 2 guys close him down, he's got his head up and plays that slicing ball into the box that could easily been a goal.

My critique of him has been dribbling into trouble. Trying to beat 2 players when there's no room behind them. He didn't do that in this match. When he was 1v1 he beat people. When he was 1v2, he passed.

It's impressive how often he draws 2 defenders. He got a ton of respect from Brugge.
