Maybe he looked at the scoreboard and decided he wasn't going to run like a chicken with its head cut off .

5 goals, 7 assists in 39 matches this season

Altogether 14 goals, 20 assists in 94 total matches. Not too shabby for a guy who isn't 20 yet.

It is also different when they game plan for you. Sancho is a player no doubt. It excites me that now if you want to shade to Puli's side this kid will hurt you, want to shade towards Sancho Puli hurts you, shade to the outside then Reus or one of the aforementioned will just cut inside.

Weigl made a difference today, would be really nice to see him put some back to back solid games together.

There is still much for Pulisic to improve on. He has to become a consistent player for 90 minutes. He sometimes dawdles on the ball a bit too much. His off the ball movement needs to be more assertive and more precise. He hopefully will learn how to counteract attempts to muscle him. He tends to be be very direct, and maybe he'll use more guile with experience. He's certainly a good player, but he's still a work in progress.

i agree, but i think a lot of that depends on how his coaches use him. for much of this year, and parts of last, he's been played as a traditional winger, hugging the touch line. he looked dangerous against bayer because he had the ball in more dangerous areas, with more options to create things. this, along with the improved team speed with sancho on the pitch, made bvb look a lot more dangerous, imo.

And i am not surprised cp got so gassed. he still had a lot of defensive responsibilities, and did a lot of tracking back to go along with his several runs forward.

Be careful about responding to him, he can really mess up a thread.

O/T but it's crazy how Lewandowski is running away with the Golden Boot in Germany. I'm a Team Suarez Guy, but Lewandowski surely has to be the Striker of the Decade. He scores and racks up assists. Did it for Dortmund, doing it for Bayern and he's the record goal-scorer for Poland.

Sanchez had two assists and one goal
    Reuss has two goals
CP had one assist and also drew a PK that Reuss failed to convert.
Sancho had a great game but we will have to see how he performs after two or three matches where he is double teamed or more like CP and Reuss always see.

Was good to see the squad bounce back after the poor showing against Schalke. I think their better form was due to a lack of a target forward like Batman forced them to make better ball movement in the attack.

I don't think no Bats was the reason they looked better. I don't think Max does anything all that much better than Bats at this stage in his career. If BVB can get Bats for 50m after a clean physical they ought to be all over that, he is more than just a target striker and can combine better than Auba.

Having Weigl acting like Weigl of last year was the biggest difference to me. They had control of the midfield for a change. They also changed the way they were attacking, with the midfielders sitting a bit deeper early in the attack which allowed space for the wide guys to cut inside. No Castro or Dahoud (subbed in when the outcome was pretty much a given) to foul up every other attack with a WTF pass makes a diff too.

Once they did not concede an early easy goal, things became much easier for Dortmund, since they do know how to attack at pace.

Don’t want to take away from Sancho, had a great game. But, would he have had as good a game if he was played on right? Inverted wingers are all the rage since there’s more bullets in their chamber from an offensive standpoint to cut in.

as long as henrichs was on his side he would've been fine, they switched henrich to pulisic's side because he was so lost dealing with sancho.

When stogey started by playing gutzee and shishi as duel 6s then switched to dahoud you knew this was going to have to happen. Weigl is the modern, complete dmid / midfielder in the Toni Kroos mold. Stöger still living in the 90s was also forced to adopt MP3 technology.

I guess you don't have much faith in CP being able to run but not run like a chicken with its head cut off!
