PBP: Chris Richards (Starting); Bayern Munich vs Manchester City; 7/28 [R]

There's no gameday thread for this guy and he's starting. Not sure why he's not being mentioned? I looked up his name on the search list but nothing came up.



Anyway, he's starting right now, Bayern up 2-0 on ESPN

 

City pull one back before the break, doesn't appear to be at fault for the goal.

2-1 Bayern

 

HT 2-1 Bayern

 

Remains on in the second half.

 

City tie it up 2-2, Richards tried to apply pressure but ultimately the shot went through and was scuffed by Ulreich(?) and tapped in for the tie.

 

A good interception by Richards to close down a through ball from City that would have caused a clear cut chance

 

Good tackle by Richards in the box preventing a shot from City.

 

Right after, a foul against Richards. Freekick for City.

 

City take the lead after being down since the break. A nice little cut back with no pressure from the left center back and a good shot to the lower left corner.

3-2 City.

 

A counter attack by Man City leads to a cross which is eventually intercepted by Richards.

 

I've noticed that Richards seems really comfortable with the ball and can pass out of the back with pressure, although he seems to be playing conservatively.

 

Richards goes the distance in a 3-2 loss to Man City.

Overall, I'd he was pretty tidy and conservative. I don't believe he was at fault for any of the goals.

 

Granted, I tuned in before the break so I couldn't see how he did in the first half.
