Then that run out should be more than enough. As far as that right back position goes, Zhang Linpeng won't get called up sadly, but for now Wu Xi seems alright. Zheng Zhi can f off IMO, Gao Hongbo didn't need him so I think a midfield consisting of Chen Tao, Deng Zhuoxiang, Zhao Xuri and Huang Bowen is absolutely fine. Feng Xiaoting can keep in mind that he is part of the CSL defence that has conceded the least goals (apart from Beijing Guoan), let's keep our fingers crossed that Camacho will play him instead of Li Weifeng. Wu Pingfeng looked great in the games he played for China but Hao Junmin is back now. I reckon China would have beaten Iraq if Hao was about and Feng Xiaoting played instead of Li Weifeng.
Obviously the result was a big shock, but Jiangsu is a strong team and they had a massive crowd out to support them, Guangzhou just came out lazy. It's actually their second defeat of the season, and the news about Lee's potential firing is far from bullshit. Even before this match Guangzhou has been talking about going after a major foreign coach.
i would be disappointed if guangzhou considers getting another coach it just suggests "in CSL, even if you win the title, you wont keep your job". if lee jangsoo isn't foreign enough, they can consider getting arie haan (who unintentionally announced he will be leaving tianjin teda for sure).
so what? It's not only in the CSL that this kind of thing happens. Guangzhou brought in Lee to win them a title, he did, but for whatever idiotic reason (mainly ego), they want someone with more prestige to lead them when they face off in Asia next year. If they do bring someone new in, it would be a mistake even worse than the CFA firing Gao, because few domestic managers (let alone foreigners) understand the Chinese game and the ACL the way Lee does.
it just seems the chinese football circle always have this 崇洋-ism (aka, often believe foreign managers are the best). a bit changing the topic: i am looking at the wiki page of CSL 2011 right now. at the beginning of the season, we have 9 chinese managers for 16 CSL teams, now it decreased to 5/6 chinese managers. this kind of suggest to me that the ability of chinese managers are not as recognized as the foreign managers. some of the foreign managers are pretty unknown too, such as former shenzhen ruby manager: sinisa gogic, who never achieved anything before lol.
I think your math may be off, at the start of the season, the Chinese managers were Wu Jinggui, Ma Lin, Shen Xiangfu, Xi Zhikang, and the Nanchang manager (can't think of his name). Xi was fired, but with Gao Hongbo being hired by Shaanxi, you are still at 5 Chinese managers right now. If you're really looking for something, there were 4 Korean managers at the start of the year but only 2 remain. Right now, teams aren't jumping around to take a chance on the older generation of Chinese managers, guys like Pei Encai, Jin Zhiyang, Xu Genbao, etc. There is definitely a new generation coming up, obviously Gao is leading that charge, but you have the likes of Hao Haidong, Fan Zhiyi, and Li Xiaopeng who are getting involved in managing. I expect next season, we'll see a few more Chinese in charge of teams. However, you are right, there is a belief that foreign managers are better and if you look at it, they have been. By my count, the only Chinese managers who have won CSL titles are Zhu Guanghu and Gao.
Looks like a lot of dirty money was exchanged under the table between CFA and a LED advertising company in this deal: http://finance.sina.com.cn/stock/s/20111025/111110684513.shtml
Tianjin Teda's Wu Wei'an rumored to go to Guangzhou Fuli: http://sports.sina.com.cn/b/2011-10-26/09295803169.shtml
And rumor is a number of waidi players will be heading there too, with names like Wang Xinxin, Chen Tao,and Li Weifeng being thrown around. It also should be noted its all but a foregone conclusion Arie Haan will be their manager next year...
deciding to watch the liaoning chanchun game over watching my guangzhou and shandong teams T_T. fighting for 3rd place is prob gonna be fierce! jiayou liaoning~~
good thing they came back haha. thee uh i stopped watching liaoning at 2nd half to watch guangzhou. conca's hellla filthy haha.
SHENZHEN RUBY - RELEGATED. I think the coach should have the biggest blame. He insisted Shenzhen Ruby to play possession and ground ball (no aerial passes) and play the 3-5-2 formation. The team ended up to have the most goal-conceded. He complained how CSL is heavily relied on foreigners. Now he blamed the quality of Shenzhen's foreign players is bad. Philippe Troussier lolol.

And he is staying on to help them stay down next season. Killen has also signed up again and if I read it correctly Flores is likely as well.
What a player. Great memories from his Perugia days, and of course THAT goal against Italy in WC! Ahn JH, farewell and goodbye!
