What's done is done. It's time to look forward. Lippi is bringing something positive to the NT. Would it be enough? What else do we need? And how will we find a way to get what we need? How will we somehow, someway, do the best we could, summon the courage we know we have, manage to qualify for and do well at World Cup 2022? This is the thread to discuss all that and more.

Lippi is giving the youngsters a chance at the EAFF. And they lived up to the challenge, somewhat.

Wei Shihao! Lippi has done it again, discovering and developing new talents. 3-0 against Oman at the U23 Asian Cup. All three goals had Wei Shihao in it.

This U23 team is far better than last time. I think the centerbacks could well become our new starting CBs for the senior team. Gao Zhunyi and Liu Yiming were solid

China PR had its first match of the China Cup 2018 against Wales today. Sadly, the results did not go their way as they conceded six goals during the match.

How is this kind of performance from China even possible? It wasn't any fluke trashing where Wales would have scored from every chance but completely deserved scoreline. This is not a top European team but Wales who have regularly problems to beat even smaller European teams like Georgia. In whole 2017 they scored as many goals (6) as they did today in 1 match against China even if their opponents in 2017 weren't so good.

When watching this match I was asking myself are China closer to Liechtenstein (population 37 000, FIFA-rank 181) or San Marino (population 30 000, FIFA-rank 204).

After match I found out the comparison was spot on because this was the largest Wales margin of victory since 1996 (it was San Marino they beat 6-0 back then but that was at home).

This is friendly match, so don't be so rough on your lads. Keep Lippi and cut the lazy players. You will finally find the good crop to rely on.

My lad, Giggs is in last video you posted. I loved watching Giggs in ManU when I was a kido. He was my role model in football.

Pathetic...the midfield is just nonexistent. Nobody is making any runs to get open so its just long ball after long ball.

So many in that team that shouldn't be there...

I've been saying this for more than a decade here and I'm going to say it again, Chinese soccer needs to learn from Japan in a comprehensive way.

Is it true that the Chinese FA is trying to naturalize Ricardo Goulart and Elkeson?
