Croatian national league: NK Rijeka - GNK Dinamo Zagreb 0-0 Junior Fernandes started this match. The match was solid, several good chances, 64% of ball possession Dinamo had. It was 32C with 10 000 of fans at Kantrida Stadium in Rijeka. http://max.tportal.hr/Rijeka--Dinamo-00-sazetak-3-kolo-201314-Video_18347_0__0.aspx At the end you can see interviews with tactical experts Slovene Matjaz Kek and Krunoslav Jurcic. They described their splendid theoretical visions, ideas, they emphasized virtues of impressive attacking football styles which were completely accomplished in practical sense. But there is more, football fairy tale doesn't end here. GNK Dinamo Zagreb - Sheriff Tiraspol 1-0 (89 minute). Statistics: http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2014/matches/round=2000477/match=2011718/index.html 18 attempts and only one goal. Luckily "forgotten" Ante Rukavina scored that deciding goal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ante_Rukavina Fatos Beqiraj was not even on the bench, so Junior Fernandes will have safer status. Ante Rukavina showed here his bad accuracy as usual. Joseph Simunic (4) is becoming older in defense, attacker tricked him. Jan Dolezal scored his first goal in the first league against Dinamo. August: NK Slaven Belupo - GNK Dinamo Zagreb http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=cro/nationalleague/results.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NK_Slaven_Belupo The Pharmacists is their nickname because of Belupo company which is placed in city of Koprivnica where they play. GNK Dinamo Zagreb - Austria Wien 0-2. Weaker performance, things went well in first halftime, ball possession was on Dinamo's side, but attackers were cut off, everything was based on individual solo moves. Ante Rukavina got the red card after 10,15 seconds, he had unpleasant foul (kung fu high kick) against Croat Kaja Rogulj. It was hard to play with 10 players. First goal scored Bosnian Croat Marin Leovac, second one scored Austrian Serb Marko Stankovic. Second leg match will be in Vienna, but it's all over after Zagreb match. Austria Wien played well, not so defensive, well arranged actions. Sad thing is that two Croatian players decided a lot, Kaja Rogulj prevented many things in defense and Marin Leovac scored the first goal. Dinamo observed Marin Leovac in recent past, but he ended in Vienna. Goalkeeper of Dinamo was not on good level, young and unexperienced. Referee Howard Webb brought good decisions. Europa League competition seems realistic now. Usual optimism of players before second leg match, but it's hard to expect 0-2 for Dinamo. Austrian mentality is hard working, so I don't expect their failure. Maybe some miracle happens, early goal...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNZ_XsdKx2s So many chances... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jea5ewqbG_U
He had some chances, but attackers in general used individual actions, opponents watched them good. It was hard to do anything alone, when someone starts to do something, he becomes blocked with 2,3 players. Lets hope that something positive will happen in Wien. Krunoslav Jurcic is not their coach anymore, this role will have Zoran Mamic and Damir Krznar, but this is not permanent, probably they will hire Tomislav Ivkovic at the end. Problems are becoming deeper, they want to create positive shock, but I doubt in this. This result surprised, Dinamo seemed better on paper. Dinamo plays better in away matches, they won against Brugge, Malmo, Ajax, Anderlecht, Timisoara...
NK Slaven Belupo - GNK Dinamo Zagreb 1-3. http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=cro/nationalleague/results.html Junior Fernandes scored two goals, 24th and 94th minute. Longer match, referee waited until he scored. Austria Wien - GNK Dinamo Zagreb 2-3 Austria Wien goes in Champions League, because they won 0-2 in Croatia. Dinamo started to lose 1-0, but after that they returned, it was 1-3, at the end Kienast scored for 2-3 one minute after he entered in the game. It was very close. Dinamo will play in Europa League again. Junior Fernandes scored one goal. Highlights will be tomorrow.

We can focus ourselves on this amazing event, Champions League is weaker competition anyway. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_UEFA_Europa_League Other Croatian club NK Rijeka has a nice chance to play in Europa League, if they survive second leg match against Stuttgart. First leg match ended 2-1 for Rijeka, another late goal of Stuttgart (89), same case like with Dinamo in Vienna. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleagu...match=2012430/postmatch/statistics/index.html I doubt that Rijeka can surprise again. UEFA Europa League 2013/2014 Group Stage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_UEFA_Europa_League GNK Dinamo Zagreb will play against PSV Eindhoven, Chornomorets Odesa (Ukraine) and Razgrad Ludogorets (Bulgaria). Dinamo was in Pot 2 here. Maybe we can expect something from here. Second Croatian club NK Rijeka after their matches against Stuttgart will play against: Lyon, Real Betis, Vitoria Guimaraes. Some teams have luck, goal in 94 minute for 2-2.
Dinamo won against Razgrad Ludogorets last season in 98th minute. It ended 3-2 and Dinamo entered in Champions League, so they will be very motivated against The Blues. Croatian-Bulgarian wars from 927 year will help them in motivation for sure. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croatian–Bulgarian_battle_of_927 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croatian–Bulgarian_Wars http://www.studiacroatica.org/jcs/01/0105.htm Team Value: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/pfk-ludogorets-razgrad/startseite/verein_31614.html They seem stronger than Chornomorets. They have Brazilian Michel Platini in their squad, so this must work good. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Platini_Mesquita Chornomorets Odesa - I don't know much about them. One Argentine and two Brazilian players play in this club: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Chornomorets_Odesa Team value: http://www.transfermarkt.fr/de/chernomorets-odessa/startseite/verein_6992.html Markus Berger, Pablo Fontanello and Leo Matos are most expensive players. PSV Eindhoven lost yesterday against AC Milan, that's why they are in Europa League. It was 1-1 in Eindhoven, but in Milano they lost. Team value: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/psv-eindhoven/startseite/verein_383.html GNK Dinamo Zagreb: http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/gnk-dinamo-zagreb/startseite/verein_419.html PSV has strongest team here, second place seems nice. Only if they finally prepare against someone and leave surprises out of the field. Bayern Munchen - Chelsea play now, UEFA Super Cup. Result is bad for Bayern 0-1.

History between HNK Hajduk Split and GNK Dinamo Zagreb: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eternal_derby_(Croatia)
New (old) coach of GNK Dinamo Zagreb is Branko Ivankovic. His origins are from West Herzegovina. He has more knowledge than Krunoslav Jurcic, but many fans consider that foreign coach would be much better solution, like Felix Magath, Frank Rijkaard...and some others who are available. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branko_Ivanković http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_GNK_Dinamo_Zagreb_managers His third attempt. After second time, he said: never again, but he changed his mind for some reason.

Europa League: GNK Dinamo Zagreb - Cernomorec 1-2 Standings, group B: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_UEFA_Europa_League With this amazing performance and better goal difference, Dinamo managed to achieve higher position than PSV. I am sure that new dramatic moments will visit this group often. Junior Fernandes scored one goal. They played well in first halftime, but they stopped after, they thought that this match will be easier. At least this should be alert for them before this match, Cernomorec is at third position in Ukrainian national league. http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=ukr/nationalleague/standings.html Modest preparations, they underestimated this club, even in media we could not read who are their key players. Everything was based on lucky guess, that numbers 9,10 and 11 are good players. New coach Branko Ivankovic needs to change some things, defeats in two most important matches: Hajduk Split and Cernomorec. Confusing thing is that PSV lost at home against Bulgarian Ludogorets. So it's hard to predict here anything now. Dinamo won against NK Osijek in national league this weekend, 0-1.
