Yeah bummer we won't get to host RSL but hey if they are that scared to play the NASL Champs that they need to throw money around to try get an advantage by hosting so be it.

Nessie isn't picky and will glady enjoy her Dewars out in Salt Lake.

    lolol

you guys see that djorn was trying to do some damage control going out and offering up his phone number to everyone to call and talk to him about making the call? I kinda doubt any fans would seriously boycott the club for doing this, most the stars supporters are so in love with the club that they'd continue to follow them religiously even if they moved to another state.

You're probably right that it may not have been needed for a majority of the Stars fans but very cool move by Djorn nonetheless.

The club is definitely looking to get a result out in Salt Lake next tuesday, Manny rested all the regular starters in last nights game against the Rowdies.

here is a really solid Q&A from IMS with Djorn on the decision to sell hosting rights for the Open Cup game.

    link

For me the fact that in making the decision Djorn made sure there would be a way for us to watch the game was great thing to read.

I'd be willing to completely skip tomorrow, a day in which I don't have to work, just to get to Tuesday faster. I cannot wait for this game. COYS!

    chickens v champs
    how cute

From all the reports I've read, RSL is rolling out as much of their first team (national team duties, injuries, etc) as possible.

You guys seem to talk a big game. Lets see if you can back it

I think we just did. To be fair though it looked like RSL weren't really playing at their top until the last 10 minutes or so.

I definitely say can Jonny Steele, hes crap.

good luck the rest of the way.

    thanks UPinSLC and 15to32
and hats off to all the RSL fans for turning out and supporting the Dewars
honestly if we hosted we probably would have struggled to get 4,000 out for the game

True that! Their fans do deserve a lot of credit for showing up to the cup, very few MLS fans do stuff like that, RSL fans are up there with the Cascadian fans on the level of support for their team.

Thanks for the props for team support.

As an RSL fan, I feel absolutely gutted. You guys definitely outplayed us, and deserve a lot of credit. Also, I saw a couple Stars fans at the game, which was really cool.

Best of luck going forward :)

Well played ... congrats and best of luck going forward.

I don't know that the anyone else will pay you to beat them on their home turf, but I hope y'all enjoy a nice deep run.

I love it when that happens. Now bring on San Jose!

Seriously, bring them on quick, before Wondo gets back.

No one has posted about the San Jose game yet?

Just wanted to say good job, you guys took it to us and almost forced extra time/PKs, if it wasn't for another one of the Quake's token late game winners. Great job beating RSL and giving us a run for our money, you have a good team. Keep supporting them - I hope Minnesota gets an MLS team in the years to come.
