This is my point too. It was a red. Rudiger didn't need to embellish anything, he was kicked with studs in his stomach and groin. It was dumb as can be.
Great win. Hoping it signals a return to form. Son’s red card. Oof. He obviously kicked him. It did feel harsh, but what can you expect. Dumb. I was way more annoyed by the dust-up between Kova and Alli. Alli did that punk move where you grab the guy and pull him in so you can push him away. Dude’s not my favorite. Listening to Robbie Earl talk about being the target of racist chants was heartbreaking. Teams/players shouldn’t be forced to risk wins and losses to take a stand by leaving the field. Stadiums (clubs) and the FA need to lead. As a newer fan (than most here), I just don’t have the baggage everyone else seems to have around Spurs. Nice win, but mostly because of our form, place in the table, and history with Jose. I must be plastic too. [emoji1745]
This. I was watching it and had a great big drop in my stomach when he said, "But it hurts." I called my wife over to watch and she had the same reaction.
I agree. While it was bad what happened to Rudiger, you cannot stop a match as there will always be idiots who will take this method if they see their team losing. Also I do feel people are over sensitive when it comes to African Americans. I am brown and have challenges at work and regular life as well which I take it on the chin. I know majority of people don't feel that way towards me but there will always be some people who are racist. But why feed their ego by acknowledging them? That said these people should be made an example of and should face strict action such as lifetime bans, not just their home stadium but all stadiums in the country. That may put a stop to this as there will be a lot at stake.
Considering that Rudiger was then racially abused by the Spurs fans. I don't think it is a good idea for Jose to join in with Rudiger abuse. Frank takes on Jose. "With Toni, in this incident when he's having to post after the game about something we know is a huge deal [racism], I think to question his integrity in that time is disappointing for sure. "Pretty universally, certainly what I heard in the commentary and the post-match reflection was that the Son incident was a red card. "It wasn't brutal but it was instinctive that warrants a red card in the modern day. It was pretty clear that was the case. I wouldn't question Toni's integrity on that." On Tuesday, Tottenham said they had banned a supporter for throwing a cup at Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, but their investigation into the alleged racist abuse of Rudiger "remains ongoing". Jose should really stick to being a TV pundit.
Lol, wait till Leeds United are back in the Prem. I think that'll be one of the rare moments all of England barring Leeds will agree on something. And that's hating Leeds United.
Dirty Leeds, certainly among younger fans than me, Leeds are the most disliked team. However for us really old and crumbly fans it has to be the spuds. Especially as they are a London rival. It certainly brightened up my day. It's vital that we back up this result over the remaining Christmas fixtures against Southampton and the arse.
Rudiger is not African-American is he? Yep, I think it is the proper thing to take the higher stance. And I salute you. Not everyone has your strength. The problem is that since Boris and Trump have come to power, racist scum are feeling more confident about their idiot opinions. It is frustrating for players to be subjected to abuse. It wouldn't happen, is less likely to happen, in the street, as the player could retaliate against the racist. In a stadium the player can't do much. Gary is quite good here https://www.skysports.com/watch/vid...-verdict-on-racism-at-spurs-chelsea-ooyalamxf
Yeah, no reference for Leeds. I like their badge. [emoji2369] Most of my ire (when I can muster any) falls on Arsenal. Those stupid rash guards they wear, smug Venger, Suarez and others, Arsenal fans...it’s all terrible. Jose’s “specialist in failure” comment was one of the things that made me love him (before it all went wrong). It’s the only team I can’t bring myself to watch in a neutral fixture.
If you watch the Dammed United you’ll get a small feel for it. However, I hope they come up. I’m a big fan of Bielsa and I want to see him in the EPL. Also interested in seeing that 3-3-3-1 of his tried out. Dudes a mad scientist.
still need a groan button for the obvious plastic anti-pro-simian fans comments: how could you be anti-this:
Tis the season to put aside our differences. This is an age old debate and a tiresome one so requesting that people stop throwing insults around and stop stirring the pot. We do not have a homogeneous fan base and that's a good thing. Discussions, differences and debates are good things. We have people from all over the map (literally). Those who grew up in a chelsea house and those who saw the light later on in life (maybe a random game they saw on tv, a favourite player, a trip to the bridge when they were in town). We have fans who have supported the club for decades and some for months. We have emotional fans and irrational fans and analytical fans. We have white fans, brown fans, black fans. These are all good things and none of it really matters other than a common love of this club and wanting us to win. At the end of the day we are blue fans. So to those calling others names and those trying to provoke a negative reaction, please don't. There is no need to insult each other or categorise/marginalise. Please keep it civil and try to add to, rather than take away from, the conversation. So happy holidays, merry christmas, hannukah sameach, happy kwanzaa and enjoy whatever you celebrate. Peace.
