TBF I've seen some very experienced players do similar but, y'know... they're usually playing for some low quality, cut price side like Arsenal.
Glad to be up 3-1. Not playing especially well today, when the finishing is running hot, good things happen. Tomori is getting a bit casual the past two games, which I kind of understand. Zouma still doing Zouma things reminds me a lot that Rudiger is still out. C'mon Clan, that's not the argument. I've spent years on here generally defending Willian, so I know his value. But he's 31 and we've now played him 3 games in a row with a midweek game, which is crazy since Lampard generally wants us to press a lot and wants Willian especially do a lot of defensive work. We've also played Mount on the wing in the same system, again 3 games in a row, and he's just not good on the wing (back in the center today, he's scored a goal and gotten into position for another already). It's not that Pulisic is already great, but he's been fine when he's played. Unless we give him some time, he can't develop.
Ashley Cole same though? The decision these players make during the action of an offensive move: "Use my bad foot and nothing will happen. Or pivot to use my good foot and maybe something will happen."
It's not considered a "thing" in this day and age of young and upcoming players, with talent and promise. Playing out of the back is the "thing". Look at some of the best keepers in the game that couldn't kick for shyte if they came out with the ball, our own Cech was bloody horrible at it. Terry was hilarious to watch trying to bring the ball out.He made bob look great It's a managerial thing. Not drilling them to pick out row z if in doubt, because, well...that lad at City and the bloke at 'pool are doing it and they're winning shit, so.....
Yeah, but Jose could be a bully and he would stifle the creativity of the team. But, yes, zonal marking and a lack of discipline at the back is a problem for us, although Dave and Alonson are not the youngsters and they are fcucking up on a regular basis.
Playing out the back is good imho, but I agree, it doesn't mean we have to do it ALL the time. In football the last thing you want to be is predictable.
It's also how our youth teams play and how he'd expect a Spanish keeper to play, so not necessarily a surprise. Of course, it also makes Zouma's continuing presence a bit of a mystery, so what do I know.
Was that a thing for Kepa at Bilbao? Can't say I ever saw him play a single game before coming to Chelsea.
The best description I heard of that guy was that he was like the kid that was the best player in the playground but who didn't like to kick the ball too far in case it got too far away from his sandwiches
Hummm...can't really get a good lock from the camera angles, but neither announcer has mentioned it. Why isn't Pulisic busting a gut warming up on the sidelines? Make a statement kid!
Two excellent balls in a row from mount. One to release CHO down the left and the other a simple but effective layoff for tammy (on target but needs to work more with the full width of the goal). About time for some tactical subs.
So why does Alonso go all the way back there and put us under pressure. He could not have done worse trying to switch play to the other flank
