    Chelsea v. Aston Villa
    Stamford Bridge, 2:30PM EST
    NBC Sports Gold

    Chelsea have been in bad form since the international break (loss to City away, draw to Valencia away, and a loss to Ham at home) so it'll be interesting to see how the players respond.

    Lampard is facing some crisis for the first time.
    -talking Pulisic up front with Tammy out and Michy/Giroud not to be trusted;
    -questions at left back with Alonso not playing since the 4-4 Ajax match and Emerson being poor against City. Switching Az to the left is only a stopgap;
    -finding the balance between Kante, Jorg, and Kante and reducing the amount of giveaways with only a stretched CB pairing as cover.
    -Pedro is surely not an answer anymore, so reliance on Willian and Pulisic will be greater. Hudson-Odoi needs to step up a little. I know that's asking a lot of a kid, but he wanted big boy money.
    -Shut up about Kepa already. He's playing behind a rookie CB and a second string CB. West Ham would have won 6-0 without him. He's a world class keeper and at the moment, only Ederson, Allison are ahead of him in the league at the moment.

    Enjoy this on illegal streams or Chelsea radio!

    Agree on Kepa, but crisis a bit strong, a loss to City away in which we played real well except for the all important goal scoring thingo_O, and a draw to Valencia away, with Tammy gone for a good bit, not reasons for concern, now West ham was a lazy cluster....., hopefully a one off that will remind the team they are only good enough when they play harder than the other team, any team

    Still think for balance for the unique skills each brings, Jorginho, as good as he has mostly been, has to be the odd man out at the start and Willian needs to start. James and Az on left too. AV is dangerous in attack, we need to proper defend

    The defense is a real concern, but the two City goals were f ups in the midfield.

    Our midfield has been bad. Jorginho and Kov are far too liable to make game changing errors. They need to keep it simple... those giveaways in midfield kill us and undo any good they're capable of.

    Don't like the idea of Pul at striker. Feel like this very Hazard esque type thinking.. kinda shocked Bats isn't deemed worthy of being slotted in there. Much prefer to keep our shape and have some kind of target man.

    Is it confirmed that Bats won't be starting today? He needs to spend a majority of his training team learning the offside rule but he and Pulisic have shown a good understanding and this would be valuable to grow.

    Even if Tammy could play I hope we don't rush it. Have to be careful with injuries especially with such a busy period.

    Rudi hopefully back by Christmas (though expect it to be into the new year before he's back at full sharpness).

    Frank said Tammy still has a lot of pain, so I wouldn't rush either.

    I saw that Tammy was cleared to play but idk if he will. Especially cause we play again Saturday vs Everton. Then Tuesday in the all important match up vs Lille.

    It boggles the mind doesn't it? Bats was on fire in limited action, but has recently been underwhelming to say the least... The number of offsides he has accrued has been ridiculous and several of them were not even close. Probably a sign that he is seriously pressing. I do agree with dspence that CP doesn't belong at CF. He isn't big enough to muscle many off the ball... especially CDs. As such, they can't count on him for consistent holdup play. But more importantly, CP has been beyond deadly at left-wing forward. Putting him in one-on-one situations where he can either choose to attack the endline or start one of his fantastic penetrating dribbles towards the center is the best way to create space and chances IMO.

    He turned 19 last month and he has just come back from injury. It's not asking a lot from an extremely talented young player.

    Alonso not even in the squad - any injury concerns there or do we just think he's done?

    Worried about putting Tammy out there so soon but hopefully that’s unfounded. Glad Jorginho is getting a rest.

    Let’s get it done today lads. No more sleeping at the wheel.

    Based on the early running there is zero need to overcomplicate this. Run at them, play simple balls and chances will come. KISS football called for here.

    Abraham's touch a bit on the agricultural side at the moment Looks like he's been out for weeks not days.

    Some solid work from willian a short while ago. Reece was caught forward and willian covered very well. Support that pedro was not providing at the weekend and it shows.

    No yellow for the hatchet job on willian just now. Great, going to be one of those games.

    We get the ball into decent positions and then seem bereft of ideas what to do with it.
