    Club football returns, hallelujah.

Geordies at home, a fixture in which we have an excellent recent record going back to 2012 when we lost that aberration of a game to Cisse.

Newcastle not exactly prolific and have yet to score a set piece goal (apparently) but we know how poor we've been there so doesnt mean they wont break their duck. Kante and kova likely out, pulisic on the bench given his more recent playing time (if the flu hasn't blown up) and willian somewhat rested after not playing.

Predicting tammy, cho and Willian up top, mount ross and jorg in the middle and alonso, zouma, tomori and dave in front of kepa (if we go 4-3-3). With ac, rudi, reece and emerson all likely out or benching it, seems the safest lineup.

Looks like the match is on Gold for those of us stateside.

Not sure what you're so upset about. I love watching games on grainy streams with Arabic commentary

Sometimes you even get lucky and the commentary is in Dutch!

I expect we’ll see a 4-2-3-1 with Mount as the 10 and Willian and CHO on either side, with Barkley in the pivot.
I’m likely missing this one as finding a bar in Italy to watch this match isn’t my top priority today :)

Pulisic has to get some minutes today. Get the tears out of your eyes kid.

Yes, looks like the 4-2-3-1. Given Newcastle like to counter, this very much has a 4-2 feel to it.

First touch of Dross not good [hit repeat].
Jorghino is a tidy player, but his forward ball is problematic. He is not Fabregas.
    Mason Mount ordinary thus far.
    CHO is VERY very good.

Back and forth game. We’re threatening but Newcastle has too.

Passes being fired into feet hard today. A little delicacy would go a long way to keeping attacks alive.

Tammy and Mason combine but straight at the keeper.

Mount with the best chance of the game.

I am glad I only have coffee as the nearest thing to drink. Barkley would’ve killed my liver after the Man United match.

I like Jorghino. Tomori always in the right spot. Our full backs could be better. Right? Alonso reckless.

Oh great, we can look forward to a constant anti-chels bias during commentary, (and from some on here it has to be said :().

One of the things that spoiled me with our back line of old was how organized it was.

Callum is having a good game. We need to be smarter with the ball in midfield. Dumb giveaways are our biggest problem and that is not a very good problem to have... all too unnecessary.

The barcodes are getting ALL the calls. Presumably because we're away from home.

    Oh, wait...
