Nice. Chaves gonna be a tough game either way, but without Adrien I'd have even less confidence.

It's now mid January and we have no RB or LB and Esgaio getting burned. Thanks JJ. Thanks BDC.

HT: 1-1. Chaves scored in 4th min. Sporting's Dost in the 45th. A nice cross frm Gelson . Most of the possession is Sporting's ,but Chaves with the most chances . Terrible passing once again by several players.

What a timely goal from Dost. Beautiful cross from Gelson. Our defence sucks. I knew Chaves would be tough but to concede in the 4th minute against them is just brutal. Lucky to be 1-1 this team doesn't give up a lot of goals. We have a chance to steal 3 points but we're lucky if we get out with 1 tbh. Bruno Cesar at LB works against the trash... Chaves is not that.

Lots of possession, yes, but nothing threatening. Has been a theme this season.

Esgaio is not good enough. Ruben Ferreira at Vitoria SC would be a good addition to this squad.

Bruno Cesar is trash besides his occasional long shots he is a very mediocre player

I know he's coming off injury, but Semedo has been disappointing this season to me. Poor decision to chase that ball and commit that foul. Showed promise last year but has made a lot of silly costly mistakes this season.

Yup. Coates sucks too. And Bryan. And this whole team except Dost and Gelson. Meanwhile Iuri and Mane tear it up on loan.

JJ's decision in keeping Semedo in instead of P. Oliveira is costing Sporting points. Why even bring Andre into the game, guy's useless. I keep saying it, Campbell is not a starter. He's only useful as an impact player.

There's literally no one else to start though, Campbell has to.

I agree semedo has been quite poor this season. Oliveira should unquestionably be starting.

Yeah I thought Andre was a waste of a substitute. Alan Ruiz wasn't even playing bad in the first half.

Why loan spalvis and keep Andre. Why even bring Andre into the game. Or Ruiz for that matter. Just fire JJ now. Get it over with. He's a failure. And so is BDC.

What a wasted opportunity to cut the distance on the first place. I know there's a bunch of games left, but I just don't see a comeback in the horoscope.

On the positive note, Dost has added goals to his tally. Yes, it's an individual achievement , but it can help increase the morale of the group.

Benfica was lucky to even get 1 point today. It was a great opportunity to make up ground. I don't see it either. I thought if they could pull off the 2-1 against Chaves today, being a man down it might've galvanized the team. But they're just not clicking. Everything is struggle.
