Discussed his international options in this recent interview for an amateur journalist's blog: Charlie said there is a different style of football in the USA, with the sport being much more technical rather than athletic like in Europe. Playing in America led to the call up for Kelman to the Under 18 National side, playing and scoring in the one game he appeared in. However, America isn’t the only National side he is eligible to play for, Charlie has the choice of Scotland and England too, but he is keeping his options open before making his final choice. https://erourke8.wixsite.com/euanrourkesarticles/reports/charliekelmaninterview
Soccer more technical in US rather than Europe? Hmmm. Not my experience, although nearly all the youth teams I've seen from Britain are pretty much huff and chase...

mark it down. nobody has said this before - not that i have heard. even if it’s just an impression, is this why our youngsters are being picked up?
Isn't that been the complaint from over there that we were lacking in the tactical? The three base elements of soccer are 1) Athletic ability 2)technical ability 3) tactical. Our boys are not being brought over just because the supposedly more atheletic.
In this case it could be specifically a reflection of what he experienced at the FC Dallas Academy. That's clearly a high standard, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if there's more emphasis there on technique than there is at Southend.
