Heard something about rods and stones, but didn't realize they were talking height and weight, so I missed it.

Apparently Southampton is in the mix now as well: https://www.footballinsider247.com/...-for-striker-who-scored-61-goals-last-season/
Hoping he goes the Dele Alli route. Stays at Southend through next season while carving out a regular spot then he's sold up the ladder once he shows he can perform on an adult level and hope he won't be forced back to the U-23s.
Could be a tall order though if the article I posted above is to be believed: West Ham and Southampton see Kelman as a star in the making and they are keen to try and sign the attacker during this month’s transfer window. Southend are braced for offers and the League One club will find it hard to resist a sizeable offer for their prize asset.
Depends on how much they believe in him and how much they think they can make by waiting. If all they get offered is 5m then waiting till he's staring in League One will net them 15-20m. Cash strapped teams don't always have the option to look at the long view. So we'll see but I hope he doesn't end up at West Ham regardless. Southampton have a far, far better record of integrating in their own academy players, which is what he'd become.
Yeah, I was thinking that myself, not to mention some of the very impressive players they have produced. At any rate, here are the clubs reported to be interested in Kelman so far: West Ham, Southampton, Bournemouth, Brighton, Aston Villa, Brentford
Signed a pro contract: https://www.southendunited.co.uk/news/2019/january/kelman-signs-professional-contract/ Southend United are delighted to announce teenager Charlie Kelman has signed a two-and-a-half-year professional contract at the club.
By signing a pro contract Southend gets some leverage. Now Kelman cannot just leave for a nominal tribunal fee as an amatuer. He gets a nice pay bump and teams will be forced to come up with a fee Southend will accept. In the meantime it probably means more 1st team opportunities for Kelman because Southend is going to want to inflate his price and profile. A win all around for lower league clubs getting paid when they hit on a gem and a teenager being compensated at a level he also deserves.
A proud day for the Kelman family 👏@CharlieKelman0 | #Blues pic.twitter.com/ibNFCGWPm7— Southend United FC (@SUFCRootsHall) January 15, 2019
What a debut for the lad! That's a heck of a goal, and a lot of audacity to even try that shot. He's one to keep an eye on, especially if you're Tab Ramos.

At 1:50 he ends up at the end of a break away and his near post shot is saved. May have had a chance to cut it back, also heads toward the space the defender gives him which ends up cutting down on his angle.
