Good one!! I like the "Ole ole" song...with the same lyrics And of course "Dos a cero" (clap clap clapclapclap)
I say we all sing "Livin' on a Prayer" It's uniquely American, everyone knows it, and it's a great drunken singalong
Just a thought from a Fulham fan...but how about a play off of our "stick that blue flag up your arse" chant? Stick that Tri flag up your arse Through the US you'll never pass So stick that Tri flag up your arse Up your arse oh up your arse Through the US you'll never pass So stick that Tri flag up your arse
Borrowing from college hockey... Sanchez is a great big sieve, doo-dah, doo-dah Sanchez is a great big sieve, lets the ball go by Lets the ball go by, lets the ball go by Sanchez is a great big sieve, lets the ball go by More of a sing-song than a chant, I guess.
I tried to get this started in Hartford but it didn't really catch on, hopefully we'll get to use it vs. Mexico: Whenever we go up 1-0 in the first 5 minutes or so, we should sing "Are you Portugal in disguise?"
Songs for the Mexico game: Borrowing from the Jeonju game (think it was a Coz inspriation)... We're on a Mexican radio We're on a Mexican, whoa, radio ---- Rafa Marquez, Rafa Marquez, Rafa Marquez Maric0n Rafa Marquez Maric0n Simlar tune used for the costa rica game ---- Of course, the sombrero song: Aye, Aye, Aye, Aye Somebody stole my sombrero That dirty old c*nt has stolen my hat and now i have nothing to wearo, wearo, weeeaaarrrroooooo ---- Que Sera Ser - after we win (or up by enough goals): Que sera sera Whatever will be will be We're going to Germany Que sera sera ---- I also expect to hear 'Soy un Gringo', 'You could be, state 51', and the normal host of us supporters section songs.
I personally prefer the more appropriate Chivas, Canada, or Mexico (or the nearest analog to whatever English fans do when England plays Scotland).
Outside of the World Cup in France, probably one of the most appropriate times to get OVER THERE going once we qualify.
I'm sure it's already been covered, but another one from Korea (haven't gone through the whole thread yet) ... Mexico Mexico Ha-ha-ha Mexico Mexico Ha-ha-ha Heard from a few people that the Mexicans didn't like that one so much.
I'm wondering what other songs from DragonFly's site we could use game day. Col- could you post the "whole list" so that we can sort of check off songs that we could use? (hyperlink not necessary).
These are most of the songs from Mexico, England and Costa Rica games this year (and a few from memory from the Seattle GC games): Ohhhhh, USA... USA, USA, Let's Go USA! Oh...US! I rather doubt that LaVolpe knows that Columbus passed a smoking ban last year. Perhaps one of you gifted BigSoccer lyricists can come up with a chant that reminds him he's breaking the law by smoking in Crew Stadium. You know, in the odd chance he feels the urge to light up during the match.
from another thread...ideas/suggestions i had in order to pick on the Mexico doping incidents..... Sure, they are in Spanish (sorry FC T.) but what better way to make sure they (the opponent) "get" the abuse thrown at them... It's not like English-spoken chants or songs are not being done/or are excluded..... and if Telemundo is also airing the game... it sure makes the effect for those Mexicans at home listening on tv stronger.....also as someone mentioned, it can also serve to intimidate....make opposing players feel uneasy.... Suggestion from this Spanish speaking US fan: No a las drogas! No a las drogas! ("Say no to drugs!") ah, las (as in Lalas), drog (as in Drogba) as (as in the word "asterisk") put together .. To be fully translated one could say "digale-say- no a las drogas" but the shorter version (w/o the digale) does get the point across quite clearly and in a gramatically correct way...Use whenever Mexico has the ball Dopados! Dopados! Maybe better said in a chant as "dopaaaados, dopaaados!" (adjective referred to those who fail doping tests) doh-pa-dos - So using this single word, say, when Mexico has the ball... is good enough to remind them what their teammates were guilty of, and when you say it outloud , it also pretty much is calling everyone/telling them they are all on dope.... doh (as in Homer Simpson ,sort of) pa, as in grand"pa", and dos (well US fans do not need practice nor any hints about how to say dos to Mexico fans, do we? ) another, harsher option could be to yell out: Drogadictos!Drogadictos! (drug junkies, addicted to drugs)
