well, it seems like the logical thing to do, right? what, if any, are the set backs to it? from the third article "Research shows between 25 and 30 per cent of current AFL ruckmen have had a posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury related to the centre bounce."
There's also Rule Changes in Gaelic Football. It used to be that you couldn't pick the ball off the ground, unless you use your Foot first. That has changed due to the overcrowding of the defences.
